There are so many words, memories and feelings that come to our minds when we think of Leon. As we know, it would be impossible to sum up how incredible he was in a paragraph. However, anyone that knew Leon knew that there was a special energy about him that made him impossible not to love.
Leon passed on June 23rd, 2021, after sustaining injuries from a vehicle accident early that morning. He will leave behind an undeniable legacy amongst his family, friends, and community. From being the most caring and loving husband to his wife, Inge, he dedicated his life to her, and their two sons, Yan and Tim. Leon was a loving husband, dad, son, grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend.
Leon leaves behind a surviving family that would have gone to the ends of the earth for him. Survivors include Spouse, Inge Heijligers; Son and Daughter-in-law, Yan and Elyse Heijligers, their children, Leo and Holland Heijligers; Son and Daughter-in-law, Tim and Megan Heijligers; Mother and Father, Johannes and Antonia Heijligers; and Siblings, Josette Smits, Arjan Heijligers, and Erik Heijligers.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at West Oaks Funeral Home.
