Funeral service for Muriel Lucas, age 98, of Sulphur Springs, TX will be held at 2:00P.M. on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Sulphur Springs, TX with Steve Cook and Larry Blackmon officiating. Internment will follow at Mahoney Cemetery in Sulphur Springs, TX. Mrs. Lucas passed away on April 3, 2021 in Sulphur Springs.
Muriel was born on September 10, 1922 in Dike, TX to Sim and Gaynell (Dodd) Blackmon. She was married for 73 years to Weldon B. Lucas. Muriel was a secretary for Highway Department. She loved gardening, reading, family and antiques. Muriel was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son, James Sim Lucas and wife, Betty; daughter, Kati Voss and husband, Jerry Don; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren.
Muriel was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Weldon Gene Lucas and Sandra.
