Virginia Sylvia Parker

Virginia Sylvia Parker, a longtime resident of Birthright, TX, age 90, passed away Nov. 27, 2020, after an extended stay at Rock Creek Health and Rehabilitation. She was born July 10, 1930, in Lakehurst, New Jersey, to Mary Gardner Albertson and Josiah Albertson. A strong and spirited woman, she was known to most as Granny. For a time Virginia worked at Texas Instruments and Lee Jean Company, but is best known as a home maker where she helped raise her step-children and granddaughter.

She is survived by her husband, Larry W Perry, of Birthright, her sister, Edith Wyer, of Brownsville, NJ, her step-children, Joel Ross Perry of Tucson, AZ, Rita Renea Perry of Sherman, TX, Lisa Perry Tidwell of The Colony, TX, as well as her grandchildren: Aimee Hunter Blackburn of Lubbock, TX, Lori Jean LeBaron of Beachwood, NJ, Nathan Perry of Springfield, MO, Rebecca Perry of Springfield, MO, Ross Perry of Springfield, MO, Trenton Tidwell of The Colony, TX, Haylee Tidwell of The Colony, TX, Lane Perry of Sherman, TX, and her great-grandchild Abigail Blackburn of Lubbock, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Gardner Albertson and Josiah Albertson, her first husband, James Henry Parker of Florence, AL, her sisters Rosemary Bino, of Jacksonville, Fla., and Sara Elizabeth Albertson, of Lakehurst, NJ, her daughter, Linda Jo LeBaron, and her grandson, Mathew Michael LeBaron.

A private family memorial for Virginia Parker will be held at a later date at North Hopkins Cemetery.
