The Lady Cats Soccer Team Drops Game to Texas High In Overtime On Emotional Night

Senior Night is always an emotional night and add to that the heartbreaking news of the death of a schoolmate during Spring Break meant the Lady Cats were carrying some heavy baggage into their district contest against Texas High Tuesday night, March 10, at Gerald Prim Stadium.

After a scoreless regulation, the Lady Tigers scored twice during the first half of overtime and then held on during the second half to take a 2-0 win. The Lady Tigers controlled the game in the overtime.

Several JV and Varsity Lady Cats were so upset by the tragic death, they chose not to play.

The loss left the Lady Cats in third place with a 6-3 district record. Their season mark is now 10-9-1.

Before the game, nine Lady Cats seniors were recognized on Senior Night: Lily Worth, McKenna Gammill, Ashley Noe, Jasmine Olvera, Haley Robinson, Lois Rocha, Lisseth Carmona and Shelby McCormick.

After a bye Friday night, the Lady Cats wrap up district play with a match at second place Royse City. Mount Pleasant defeated the Lady Bulldogs Tuesday night to move into first place in district with one game to go.
