Wildcats Soccer Team’s Non Losing Streak Now At 8 Games After 3-1 Win At Nevada Community Friday

The last time the Wildcats Soccer Team came up on the short end of the scoreboard was on Jan. 11, as Forney edged by the Wildcats 2-1 in the Lobo Invitational Tournament in Longview. Wildcats Coach Alexi Upton used the game to let everyone on his roster play.

Since then, the Wildcats have gone 8 games without another loss. During the streak, they have won four and tied four.

The 8th game in the streak took place Friday night as the Wildcats topped Nevada Community, 3-1 on the road. The Braves were preseason ranked #5 in Region II in Class 4A.

Wildcats forward Omar Hernandez has been an active goal scorer this season for the Wildcats. He had two goals Friday, one unassisted and the second assisted by Kevin Yanez. In a special moment for the Wildcats, Cristin Ramirez scored his first Wildcat goal in his four years of high school play.

Wildcats Coach Alexi Upton said the Wildcats are really outworking teams and are playing amazing soccer. He added he is very proud of his guys.

The Wildcats season record is now 6-4-5.

The Wildcats seem to be entering district play on a real high. The Wildcats open district play Tuesday night at Greenville.
