Wildcats Soccer Team Just Falls Short In 1-0 Heart Breaker Against Mt Pleasant At The Prim Tuesday

The Wildcats Soccer Team has not defeated Mount Pleasant since 2006. That streak continues after the latest battle between the old rivals Tuesday night, February 18, at Gerald Prim Stadium.

The game stayed at 0-0 until about ten minutes were left when the Tigers scored a goal. It stood up as Mount Pleasant took a 1-0 win. The loss broke a 10 match non losing steak for the Wildcats that went back to January 11 and included 6 wins and 4 ties. The Wildcats are now 2-1 in district play and 8-5-5 for the season.

Wildcats Soccer Coach Alexi Upton called the Mount Pleasant and Sulphur Springs match a really great game. He said he was proud of his guys. He said they fought like crazy but, in the end, they did not get the win. Coach Upton said one mistake can cost a team 80 minutes of hard work

He said the Wildcats were unlucky and he said the Wildcats would now have to beat Mount Pleasant at their house to keep their dream alive.

The Wildcats continue district play at home Friday as they play host to Texas High, coached by former Lady Cats Coach Jesus DeLeon.
