Wildcats Soccer Team Edges By Texas High, 2-1 In Overtime Friday At The Prim

The Sulphur Springs Wildcats Soccer Team narrowly avoided going into penalty kicks to decide their game with Texas High Friday night, February 21, at Gerald Prim Stadium.

Alejandro Diosdado scored for the Wildcats with just 1:36 left in the second half of overtime. When time expired, the Wildcats had a 2-1 win.

Both teams scored first half goals. The Wildcats scored first as Cristian Ramirez put the ball into the net after a good assist pass from Omar Hernandez at the 28:44 mark of the first half. Texas High got the equalizer on a successful penalty kick from Austin Miller at the 6:32 mark, after the Wildcats were called for a foul in the box. The teams then played a scoreless second half and scoreless first half of overtime.

The Wildcats improved their district record to 3-1. Texas High is now 0-4. The Wildcats season record is now 9-5-5. The Wildcats finish the first half of district play with a game at Royse City Tuesday night.
