Softball and Powerlifting are on Game Day Menu on Thursday

It’s probably going to be cold and windy, but the Lady Cats Softball Team is expected to play their second scrimmage of the season on this Thursday game day (February 13). Lady Cats Coach David Carrillo said the Lady Cats would be scrimmaging on artificial turf at Wylie East. A JV scrimmage begins at 5 p.m. The varsity scrimmage will follow. Coach Carrillo said a planned Friday scrimmage at Lady Cat Park against North Lamar and Gunter is canceled. After the Wylie East scrimmage Thursday, the Lady Cats open the regular season at their own Sulphur Springs Tournament held February 20-22.

The Wildcats Powerlifting squad is also competing on this game day Thursday at a Paris meet. It’s the third meet of the season for the Wildcats and Lady Cats teams. The teams are hoping to qualify as many lifters as they can for the boys regional meet at Pine Tree on March 4 and the girls regional meet at Pine Tree on March 5.
