Lady Cats Basketball Gets Needed District Win At Lindale Friday

The Lady Cats Basketball Team started out well in a district game at Lindale Friday night, January 31, and this time the Lady Cats finished the job with a 59-39 win. It was a much needed district win for the Lady Cats and it put them right in the middle of the battle for a playoff spot.

The Lady Cats outscored the Lady Eagles in every quarter and led 11-7 after one quarter, 25-16 at the half and 40-27 after three quarters. The Lady Cats wrapped up the win outscoring Lindale, 9-6 in the fourth quarter.

Freshman Kenzie Willis led the Lady Cats with 20 points including 3 three-pointers. Junior Nylah Lindley scored 9 points. Freshman Addisyn Wall had 6 points with two made treys. Junior Bre’Asia Ivery had 5 points. Sophomore Hannah Cordell scored 4 points. Freshman Serenity Lewis back from injury had 3 points. Senior Kate Womack had 2 points. Cordell had a good defensive game rebounding, blocking shots and altering other Lindale shots. Lindale’s leading scorer was junior Lily Chamberlain with 13 points.

Both teams are now tied in district play with 2-5 records. The Lady Cats’ season record is now 9-21.

The Lady Cats host the Greenville Lady Lions Tuesday evening.
