Wildcats and Lady Cats Basketball Teams Play District Games at Greenville on Game Day Friday

Both the Wildcats and Lady Cats Basketball Teams play district games back to back at Greenville on this game day Friday (January 17).

The Wildcats Basketball Team is ranked #4 in Class 5A. The Greenville Lions could be a handful for the Wildcats. Greenville comes in with a season record of 23-4. There roster includes nine seniors and four juniors. The Wildcats barely escaped with a victory over the Lions in Greenville last year. Lions’ Coach Chris Williams is in his first year as Greenville Head Coach. The Wildcats have a season record of 18-6. They have a four game winning streak including all three games they have played in 2020. The Wildcats last game was Monday as they defeated McKinney North at home.

The Lady Cats Basketball Team will be continuing district play at Greenville. Both the Lady Cats and Lady Lions will come in hungry for a win. Greenville just has a few wins this season. Greenville’s Coach is Erica Delley. Both teams have struggled in district play. The Lady Cats are 0-2 in district play with home losses to Royse City and Lindale, perhaps the top two teams in the district. The Lady Cats are 7-18 for the season. The Lady Cats had a roster of just seven players on Tuesday including two JV players recently promoted to the varsity. Lady Cats Coach Brittney Tisdell is hoping some of the injured Lady Cats can make it back on the court.

The Lady Cats play Greenville at 6:15 p.m. and the Wildcats game against the Lions should get started at around 7:30 p.m. KSST Radio will bring you both the Lady Cats and Wildcats games at Greenville starting at around 6:15 p.m. The radio broadcast will also include live video and audio streaming. After the games, the games will be posted on YouTube. The games will also be broadcast at a later date on Channel 18 on Suddenlink Cable. Tonight’s doubleheader will be the first of eight that will be broadcast on KSST, home and away. Games get underway Friday in Greenville at 5 p.m. for sub-varsities.
