Sulphur Springs Man Jailed On Controlled Substance Warrant Following Traffic Stop

A 38-year-old Sulphur Springs man was jailed on a felony controlled substance warrant following a traffic stop Wednesday evening.

Officers reported they were aware of an active warrant for Cedric Dewight Mosley’s arrest. A traffic stop was conducted on a silver Cadillac CTS on Freeman Street. An officer identified the driver as Mosley, Sulphur Springs Police Officer Adrian Pruitt and Sgt. Brandon Mayes alleged in arrest reports.

Dispatchers confirmed the warrant and took the man into custody at 5:20 p.m. Jan. 29 on the warrant for manufacture or delivery of less than 1 gram of a Penalty Group 1 controlled substance in a drug-free zone, according to arrest reports.

Mosley remained in Hopkins County jail Thursday morning, Jan. 30. Bond on the third-degree felony charge was set at $20,000, according to jail reports.
