Funeral services for Danny Joe Sims, age 63, of Sulphur Springs, have been set for Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Morning Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Harold B. Nash officiating, and Rev. Rudy Ellis and Rev. Troy Young assisting. Interment will follow at the East Caney Cemetery with Benard Vaughn, Bobby Edward, Tyrease Peters, Rashad Hall and DaQualin Evans serving as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Billy Williams, Randy Pryor, Corey Sims, Vincent Sims, Cary Horton and Danny Sims.
Mr. Sims passed away December 31, 2019, at his home in Sulphur Springs.
He was born September 25, 1956, in Sulphur Springs to Joe L. Wright and Omegene Sims. He was married to Margaret Ann Henley who preceded him in death.
He is survived by daughter: Chachandra Henley Hall; sons: Billy Petty and James Henley; sisters: Shirley Pryor, Barbara Cobb, Linda Hall and Ada Wright Lipscomb: brother: Harry Sims (Sherry); aunts: Arlene Williams and Peggy White; uncle: Carter Sims, Jr.; brother-in-laws: Michael Debase and Clyde Debase; sister-in-laws: Gladys Debase and Debra Debase; 22 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by wife: Margaret Ann Henley; his mother: Omegene Sims; son: Reginald Petty; father: Joe L. Wright; and several uncles and aunts.
