Deputies at 5:06 a.m. Monday contacted a 51-year-old Sulphur Springs man on Bellview Street at Texas Street after allegedly seeing a Pontiac Grand Prix leaving an area where they observed a lawn mower laying in the middle of the road, as if it had possibly fallen out of a car.
The red car continued to a parking lot and parked. They contacted the man and discovered not only did he not have a valid driver’s license, but also had an open container, according to arrest reports. He was arrested for no drive’rs license; the car was impounded.
When officers went back to check, they reported lawn mower was not longer at the location.
