Wood County Sheriff’s Report April 3-9, 2019

April 3

  • Deputies were dispatched to County Road 2482 near Mineola, at approximately 7:32 a.m., in reference to an assault that occurred. David Wilson, 40, of Mineola, was arrested for Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family Violence.
  • Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on County Road 2298 near Alba; at approximately 11:07 a.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 12:35 p.m., in reference to harassment on County Road 2482 near Mineola. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.
  • Deputies went on an arrest/warrant service to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office lobby; at approximately 1:16 p.m. Glen Usry, 57, of Hawkins, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
  • At 3:20 p.m., cows were reported out on County Road 2330 near Mineola.
  • Deputies were dispatched to Highway 154 near Quitman, at approximately 5:04 p.m., in reference to a reckless driver. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.
  • At 5:04 p.m., cows were reported out on County Road 4760 near Winnsboro.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 7:24 p.m., in reference to a dispute on County Road 2610 near Mineola. Deputies determined this was a civil matter and cleared the incident.
  • At 7:27 p.m., cows were reported out on County Road 2355 near Mineola.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 8:24 p.m., in reference to a dispute on County Road 3812 near Hawkins. Deputies determined this was a civil matter and cleared the incident.
  • Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to Edwards St. in Mineola; at approximately 9:29 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.

April 4

  • Deputies were dispatched to FM 2966 near Yantis, at approximately 8:27 a.m., in reference to an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. A known actor took the reporting party’s vehicle without authorization. The vehicle was recovered, after the known actor wrecked it. Daniel Meade, 20, of Yantis, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and outstanding warrants.
  • Deputies were dispatched to FM 17 near Alba, at approximately 1:03 p.m., in reference to a dispute. Deputies made contact with the reporting party and cleared the incident.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 3:53 p.m., in reference to terroristic threat on Holly Hill Circle near Hawkins. Deputies made contact with the actor and issued a Criminal Trespass Warning.
  • Deputies were dispatched to FM 14 near Hawkins, at approximately 4:27 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.
  • Deputies were dispatched to FM 2088 near Winnsboro, at approximately 4:27 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.
  • Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to County Road 3812 near Hawkins; at approximately 5:28 p.m. Clayton Pasteka, 30, of Hawkins, was arrested for Hinder Apprehension or Prosecution Known Felon and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Taliaferro Prince, 26, of Hawkins, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance and outstanding warrants.
  • Deputies were dispatched to County Road 2130 near Quitman, at approximately 6:04 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.
  • Deputies were dispatched to Highway 37 near Quitman, at approximately 9:00 p.m., in reference to a burglary. Actors, or actors unknown, stole several items from the reporting party’s storage unit. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
  • Deputies were dispatched to County Road 4840 near Winnsboro, at approximately 9:06 p.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any suspicious activity.
  • Deputies were dispatched to FM 2225 near Quitman, at approximately 11:52 p.m., in reference to theft. A known actor stole several items from the reporting party’s property.

April 5

  • At 3:38 a.m., cows were reported out on County Road 2724 near Mineola.
  • Deputies were dispatched to Highway 11 near Leesburg, at approximately 8:03 a.m., in reference to an open door. Actors, or actors unknown, rummaged through the reporting party’s residence, but nothing appeared to be missing. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
  • At 8:33 a.m., cows were reported out on County Road 2355 near Mineola.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 8:47 a.m., in reference to a scam on Cypress Cove near Hawkins. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.
  • Deputies were dispatched to FM 1795 near Hawkins, at approximately 9:18 a.m., in reference to criminal mischief. Actors, or actors unknown, damaged the reporting party’s property.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 10:00 a.m., in reference to criminal mischief on FM 49 near Hawkins. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.
  • Deputies were dispatched to Highway 37 near Winnsboro, at approximately 10:26 a.m., in reference to a burglary. A known actor stole several items from the reporting party’s vehicle. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
  • At 11:47 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 1804 near Mineola.
  • At 12:35 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 852 near Winnsboro.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 12:59 p.m., in reference to criminal trespass on FM 2225 near Quitman. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.
  • At 3:08 p.m., cows were reported out on PR 7908 near Hawkins.
  • At 3:40 p.m., cows were reported out on County Road 3153 near Quitman.
  • Deputies were dispatched to FM 2966 near Yantis, at approximately 4:19 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies spoke with the key holder of the building and everything was OK.
  • At 5:55 p.m., cows were reported out on County Road 3279 near Quitman.
  • Deputies were dispatched to FM 2088 near Winnsboro, at approximately 6:51 p.m., in reference to a reckless driver. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.
  • Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to FM 49 near Mineola; at approximately 9:02 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.
  • Deputies responded to a suspicious person on FM 312 near Winnsboro; at approximately 9:41 p.m. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.
  • Deputies were dispatched to County Road 2157 near Quitman, at approximately 11:41 p.m., in reference to a noise complaint. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.

April 6

  • At 8:16 a.m., cows were reported out on County Road 2351 near Mineola.
  • At 9:30 a.m., cows were reported out on County Road 2330 near Mineola.
  • Deputies were dispatched to FM 14 near Hawkins, at approximately 11:03 a.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.
  • At 12:00 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 1647 near Leesburg.
  • Deputies were dispatched to FM 2869 near Hawkins, at approximately 12:47 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.
  • Deputies were dispatched to Highway 80 near Hawkins, at approximately 1:31 p.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any suspicious activity.
  • At 2:08 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 14 near Quitman.
  • Deputies were dispatched to FM 1801 near Mineola, at approximately 5:17 p.m., in reference to an assault that occurred. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
  • At 9:42 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 49 near Hawkins.
  • Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on County Road 4640 near Winnsboro; at approximately 9:50 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.
  • Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to Highway 154 near Quitman; at approximately 10:30 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.
  • Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to County Road 3811 near Hawkins; at approximately 10:47 p.m. Amanda Allen, 36, of Hawkins, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance. Walter Hall, 25, of Hawkins, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 3 and Possession of Marijuana.

April 7

  • Deputies were dispatched to Highway 154 near Yantis, at approximately 12:26 a.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.
  • Deputies were dispatched to County Road 4470 near Winnsboro, at approximately 8:16 a.m., in reference to an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Actors, or actors unknown, took the reporting party’s vehicle without authorization. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
  • At 8:44 a.m., cows were reported out on Highway 80 near Mineola.
  • At 9:32 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 49 near Hawkins.
  • At 11:50 a.m., cows were reported out on County Road 3230 near Quitman.
  • Deputies were dispatched to FM 2869 near Hawkins, at approximately 1:51 p.m., in reference to theft. Actors, or actors unknown, stole a WIFI tower from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
  • At 1:58 p.m., cows were reported out on Highway 154 near Quitman.
  • Deputies were dispatched to Highway 80 near Hawkins, at approximately 2:49 p.m., in reference to an assault that occurred. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
  • Deputies were dispatched to Cheyenne near Quitman, at approximately 7:24 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Deputies issued a Criminal Trespass Warning and cleared the incident.
  • Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on County Road 1506 near Alba; at approximately 7:38 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.
  • Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on County Road 1360 near Yantis; at approximately 10:15 p.m. Russell Taylor, 50, of Pittsburg, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and Driving While License Invalid.
  • Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to Evans St. in Mineola; at approximately 11:08 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.
  • Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to FM 1801 near Mineola; at approximately 11:24 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.

April 8

  • Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to County Road 2298 near Mineola; at approximately 12:22 a.m. Luke Prior, 38, of Mineola, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
  • Deputies were dispatched to County Road 2610 near Mineola, at approximately 12:46 a.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies made contact with the owner of the building and everything was OK.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 8:47 a.m., in reference to terroristic threat on County Road 2482 near Mineola. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 10:04 a.m., in reference to criminal trespass on County Road 4470 near Winnsboro. The known actor has a Criminal Trespass Warning on the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
  • Deputies were dispatched to County Road 2195 near Quitman, at approximately 3:46 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.
  • Deputies were dispatched to County Road 1513 near Alba, at approximately 5:53 p.m., in reference to an assault that occurred. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
  • At 6:05 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 14 near Hawkins.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 6:07 p.m., in reference to a scam on County Road 4930 near Quitman. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.
  • Deputies were dispatched to County Road 3900 near Hawkins, at approximately 6:09 p.m., in reference to theft. Actors, or actors unknown, stole several items from the reporting party’s vehicle. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
  • Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to Gordon St. in Quitman; at approximately 6:41 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.
  • Deputies were dispatched to FM 778 near Quitman, at approximately 6:51 p.m., in reference to a reckless driver. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.
  • Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to County Road 3204 near Quitman; at approximately 7:25 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.
  • At 7:52 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 69 near Alba.
  • Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on County Road2336 near Mineola; at approximately 9:15 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle and cleared the incident.

April 9

  • Deputies were dispatched to Highway 80 near Mineola, at approximately 12:00 a.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.
  • Deputies were dispatched to County Road 4529 near Winnsboro, at approximately 2:08 a.m., in reference to criminal mischief. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and cleared the incident.
  • At 2:21 a.m., cows were reported out onCounty Road 3279 near Quitman.
  • At 3:48 a.m., horses were reported out on FM 14 near Hawkins.
  • At 9:09 a.m., cows were reported out on County Road 1612 near Alba.
  • Deputies were dispatched to Green Oak near Hawkins, at approximately 9:34 a.m., in reference to a burglary. Actors, or actors unknown, stole the reporting party’s purse. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 10:09 a.m., in reference to harassment that occurred on FM 2088 near Winnsboro. This case is active.
  • At 11:50 a.m., cows were reported out on County Road 4542 near Winnsboro.
  • Deputies responded to a suspicious person on County Road 1960 near Quitman; at approximately 12:16 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 12:39 p.m., in reference to criminal trespass on PR 7908 near Hawkins. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.
  • Deputies were dispatched to Kickapoo near Quitman, at approximately 2:26 p.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies located the suspicious activity and everything was OK.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 5:57 p.m., in reference to theft on County Road 3130 near Quitman. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.
  • Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to County Road 4470 near Winnsboro; at approximately 10:19 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual. Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to Highway 11 near Winnsboro; at approximately 10:50 p.m. Brangie Barton, 40, of Winnsboro, was arrested for Hinder Apprehension or Prosecution Known Felon and outstanding warrants. Michael Love, 46, of Winnsboro, was arrested for outstanding warrants.

  • Between the dates of April 3 and April 9, Wood County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to multiple agency assists that included the following: Emergency Medical Services, Child Protective Services, Van Zandt County Department of Public Safety and Mineola Police Department.
  • Between the dates of April 3 and April 9, Wood County Sheriff’s Investigators obtained 3 arrest warrants and arrested the individuals and filed 4 cases with the District Attorney.
