March 6th

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on HWY 80 near Hawkins; at approximately 1:08 a.m. Javier Centeno, 24, of Mineola, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance.

At 2:03 a.m., cows were reported out on HWY 11 near Winnsboro.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 80 near Mineola, at approximately 9:10 a.m., in reference to a reckless driver. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 10:40 a.m., in reference to fraud that occurred on HWY 80 near Mineola. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 11:45 a.m., in reference to a scam that occurred on CR 2620 near Mineola. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3440 near Hawkins, at approximately 12:42 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 80 near Hawkins, at approximately 2:09 p.m., in reference to a dispute. Deputies escorted the actor off of the property and cleared the incident.

Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to FM 2225 near Quitman; at approximately 3:46 p.m. Robert Hodgson, III, 42, of Quitman, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

At 5:49 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 182 near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to Coke Road in Winnsboro, at approximately 6:34 p.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any suspicious activity.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 37 near Quitman, at approximately 10:32 p.m., in reference to a reckless driver. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

March 7th

At 7:33 a.m., cows were reported out on HWY 37 near Quitman.

At 9:39 a.m., cows were reported out on HWY 154 near Quitman.

At 12:10 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 514 near Yantis.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 1:16 p.m., in reference to an abandoned vehicle on CR 1214 near Quitman. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.

At 1:21 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 3940 near Hawkins.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 1:21 p.m., in reference to criminal mischief on CR 2774 near Mineola. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to PR 5293 near Yantis, at approximately 2:23 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies made contact with the key holder and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2165 near Quitman, at approximately 2:37 p.m., in reference to a dispute. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 49 near Mineola, at approximately 4:04 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Joe McClenny, 39, of Mineola, was arrested for Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family Violence and Deadly Conduct Discharge Firearm.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on SPUR 514 near Yantis; at approximately 7:00 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 10:21 p.m., in reference to stalking on FM 778 near Mineola. Deputies advised the reporting party that extra patrol would be provided.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1378 near Yantis, at approximately 10:28 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 11:14 p.m., in reference to a possible burglary on CR 2165 near Quitman. Deputies determined this incident to be a civil matter.

March 8th

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on Johnson St. in Mineola; at approximately 12:57 a.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

At 4:04 a.m., horses were reported out on CR 1880 near Yantis.

Deputies were dispatched to Holly Trail East near Hawkins, at approximately 7:08 a.m., in reference to criminal mischief. Actors, or actors unknown, damaged the reporting party’s property. This case is active.

At 9:11 a.m., cows were reported out on CR 2379 near Alba.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3990 near Winnsboro, at approximately 9:16 a.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4847 near Winnsboro, at approximately 1:02 p.m., in reference to shots fired. Deputies made contact with the individuals and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2900 near Mineola, at approximately 4:53 p.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies located the suspicious activity and everything was OK.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 5:41 p.m., in reference to a scam on CR 2150 near Quitman. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on CR 1647 near Winnsboro; at approximately 7:40 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 7:52 p.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances on CR 3598 near Winnsboro. Deputies advised the reporting party that extra patrol would be provided.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 1647 near Winnsboro, at approximately 7:59 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and determined it was a civil matter.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Front St. in Hawkins; at approximately 10:55 p.m. Benjamin Eddington, 38, of Shreveport, Louisiana, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

March 9th

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2930 near Alba, at approximately 1:15 a.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any suspicious activity.

Deputies were dispatched o CR 1858 near Yantis, at approximately 1:41 a.m., in reference to a noise complaint. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individuals.

At 6:55 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 515 near Yantis.

Deputies were dispatched to Quitman Emergency Room, at approximately 9:01 a.m., in reference to a dog bite that occurred on CR 1975 near Yantis. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the stray dog. This case is active.

At 10:00 a.m., cows were reported out on CR 1522 near Alba.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4760 near Winnsboro, at approximately 10:53 a.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 779 near Mineola, at approximately 12:15 p.m., in reference to harassment. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and cleared the incident.

At 12:28 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 312 near Winnsboro.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 779 near Mineola, at approximately 1:17 p.m., in reference to a possible burglary. Deputies determined there was no burglary that occurred and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4830 near Winnsboro, at approximately 2:36 p.m., in reference to a dog bite. Deputies located the stray dog and transported it to Wood County Sheriff’s Office to be quarantined.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1905 near Yantis, at approximately 4:46 p.m., in reference to a theft. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and determined it was a civil matter.

At 6:11 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 1726 near Yantis.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4430 near Winnsboro, at approximately 6:54 p.m., in reference to shots fired. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and cleared the incident.

At 9:35 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 4420 near Winnsboro.

March 10th

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4560 near Winnsboro, at approximately 1:06 a.m., in reference to a noise complaint. Deputies located the activity and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1448 near Quitman, at approximately 1:52 p.m., in reference to credit/debit card abuse. Actors, or actors unknown, used the reporting party’s credit/debit card without authorization. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

At 3:21 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 2869 near Winnsboro.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 14 near Mineola, at approximately 3:56 p.m., in reference to an abandoned vehicle. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

At 9:50 p.m., horses were reported out on CR 1570 near Alba.

Deputies were dispatched to Quitman Emergency Room, at approximately 10:06 p.m., in reference to a dog bite that occurred on CR 2768 near Mineola. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the stray dog.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4490 near Winnsboro, at approximately 10:25 p.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any suspicious activity.

At 11:03 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 1726 near Yantis.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 11:11 p.m., in reference to harassment that occurred on FM 312 near Winnsboro. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4560 near Winnsboro, at approximately 11:27 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.

March 11th

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1912 near Yantis, at approximately 12:17 a.m., in reference to a noise complaint. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on Church St. in Yantis; at approximately 12:38 a.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

At 1:41 a.m., cows were reported out on CR 4596 near Winnsboro.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 312 near Winnsboro, at approximately 8:31 a.m., in reference to a dispute. Deputies located the individuals and determined it was a civil matter.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 69 near Mineola, at approximately 10:07 a.m., in reference to theft. A known actor stole several items from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1987 near Yantis, at approximately 11:07 a.m., in reference to an inquest. A male, 45, was found deceased in his residence. The Justice of the Peace arrived and ordered an autopsy. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

At 1:31 p.m., cows were reported out on SPUR 514 near Yantis.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2745 near Mineola, at approximately 2:22 p.m., in reference to shots fired. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3273 near Quitman, at approximately 3:01 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2980 near Alba, at approximately 7:21 p.m., in reference to criminal trespass. The actors left the scene, prior to the deputies’ arrival.

At 7:31 p.m., cows were reported out on HWY 154 near Yantis.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4560 near Winnsboro, at approximately 8:05 p.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any suspicious activity.

At 8:26 p.m., horses were reported out on FM 515 near Yantis.

At 8:43 p.m., cows were reported out on HWY 154 near Yantis.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 10:25 p.m., in reference to a suspicious person on CR 1580 near Alba. Deputies advised the reporting party that extra patrol would be provided.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 80 near Mineola, at approximately 11:36 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

March 12th

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on CR 2179 near Quitman; at approximately 12:15 a.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 3830 near Hawkins; at approximately 2:02 a.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3450 near Hawkins, at approximately 2:51 a.m., in reference to a disturbance. Daveon Garrett, 25, of Hawkins, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 2267 near Mineola; at approximately 4:09 a.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

At 7:17 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 2088 near Winnsboro.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 69 near Como, at approximately 7:23 a.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.

At 8:07 a.m., horses were reported out on HWY 154 near Quitman.

At 8:08 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 312 near Winnsboro.

At 9:09 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 2966 near Yantis.

At 9:17 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 49 near Mineola.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 10:08 a.m., in reference to a scam that occurred on Lloyd St. in Yantis. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 11:57 a.m., in reference to harassment on FM 2225 near Quitman. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.

At 11:58 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 2225 near Quitman.

At 12:30 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 1610 near Alba.

At 12:32 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 49 near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 11 near Winnsboro, at approximately 4:22 p.m., in reference to theft. A known actor stole a firearm from the reporting party’s property. This case is active.

Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to CR 2121 near Quitman; at approximately 7:45 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on HWY 80 near Mineola; at approximately 9:50 p.m. Guadalupe Garcia, 32, of Big Sandy, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

Between the dates of March 6 and March 12, Wood County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to multiple agency assists that included the following: Upshur County Sheriff’s Office, Canton Police Department, Winnsboro Police Department, Child Protective Services and Joes Wrecker Service.

Between the dates of March 6 and March 12, Wood County Sheriff’s Investigators obtained 2 arrest warrants and arrested the individuals.

Total Jail Count –124 inmates – 96 males and 28 females.
