The Wildcats’ baseball team completed a perfect 4 wins and no loss performance in a Van tournament Saturday (March 2) with a dominating 9-1 win over Ferrris. The Wildcats scored five runs in the top of the second and 4 more in the top of the third. Three Wildcats’ pitchers combined on a one-hitter in a game that went four innings. Pacen Edwards got the win going 2 2/3 innings allowing one hit and no runs while striking out three and walking one. He threw 45 pitches Bryce McQueen went 1/3 of an inning giving up a run and a walk. Kaden Argenbright pitched 1/3 of the inning. The Wildcats had 8 hits. Austin Dodd, Argenbright and Edwards all had two hits. Dodd, Argenbright and Jaxon Chaney all drove in two runs. Edwards also had an RBI. Dodd and Argenbright hit doubles and Jaxon Chaney had a home run. The Wildcats swiped ten bases. Dodd and McQueen stole two and Argenbright, Jace Burchfield, Dawson Sears, Edwards, Kamren Harrison and Jake Davis stole one apiece. The win improved the Wildcats season record to 8-1. With an unusual three rounds of district play this season, the Wildcats will begin district play Tuesday at Royse City.
