Funeral service for Max Drummond, age 82, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Wesley United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Cook officiating and Rev Jerry Putnam and Bill Watts assisting. Interment will follow at North Hopkins Cemetery with John Drummond, Don Drummond, Paul Drummond, Steve Drummond, Kent Stiverson, Paul West Jr, Steven Crocker and Gary Lewis serving as Pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Gene George, Dale Drummond, Benny Boss, Scott Henderson, Lewis Hawkins, Steve Crocker, Members of Double 6 Domino Club and Wesleyan Sunday School Class of Wesley Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 P.M. on Tuesday, December 11, 2018at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel. Mr. Drummond passed away on Monday, December 10, 2018 in Sulphur Springs, TX.
Max was born on September 8, 1936 in Flora,TX. He married Lou Jane Jones in Sulphur Springs in 1958. Max retired from Rockwell International. He was a member of the Double 6 Domino Club, served on the North Hopkins ISD School board for 20 years, was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church and the Chancel Choir.
He is survived by his wife, Lou Jane; daughter, Julie Weir and Steve Crocker; son, Steve Drummond and wife, Sherrie; sister, Sue Stiverson; grandchildren, Sara West, Jared Drummond, Steven Crocker, Lydia Rose Drummond, Dylan Tennison, Brenli Tennison; great grandchildren, Everlyn West and soon to be Maxson West; numerous nieces and nephews.
Max was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary Lou Duncan and Minnie Frances Drummond; brothers, J.E. Drummond, Jack Drummond, Robby Joe Drummond.
