Funeral services for Freddie Lee Epperly, 79, of Lake Fork, Alba,TX will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 8, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Yantis, TX with Rev. John Glover of Burleson, TX, officiating and Rev. Craig Vance, and Rev. Shannon Hassell, assisting. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. at FBC-Yantis Fellowship Hall prior to service. Pallbearers will be the deacons of First Baptist Church of Yantis. Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 10, 2018 at Fairview Cemetery in Pampa, TX.
Freddie passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2018in Tyler, TX. He was born on November 21, 1939 in Shamrock, TX, the son of Lawrence Edward and Lizzie Bernice Dunlap Epperly. He married Dana Cantrell on June 27, 1964 in Pampa, TX. She survives. He served in the United States Army (ASA) for three years at the start of the Vietnam War. He worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone as an Outside Plant Facilities Engineer for 30 years.
In addition to his wife Dana, Freddie is also survived by daughter, Cindi Hassell and husband, Shannon of Lake Cypress Springs, Scroggins,TX, Two grandsons, Daniel Lee Hassell of Irving, TX and Caleb Lloyd Hassell of OBU University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. One step-brother Greg Engel of Columbia, MO, Three half-brothers, Stan Epperly and Larry Epperly, KS and Raymond Epperly and a half-sister, Starr Ann Epperly Buur, CA.
Fred was preceded in death by father, Lawrence Edward Epperly, mother, Bernice Engle, and step-dad, Oscar Engle, and step-brother, Joe Engel.
