DPS Arrests Two for UUMV, Meth, and Weapons

When the DPS Trooper stopped the speeding 2015 Nissan Pathfinder with Tennessee license plate at the 131-mile post on I-30, a check of the vehicle revealed it to be reported stolen. During inventory of the vehicle, a methamphetamine pipe containing residue which led to a probable cause search that revealed two handguns, a large quantity of methamphetamine, and assorted paraphernalia.

Arrested at the scene and transported to Hopkins County Jail were Travis W. Danker, 37, of Antioch, Tennessee, and Joseph Andrew Carpenter, 27, of Oak Lawn, Illinois.

Danker is charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, more than 4-grams but less than 200-grams, and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon. He is being held on a total of $42,000 in bonds.

Carpenter is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, more than 4-grams but less than 200-grams and Possession of Firearm by a Felon. He is held on a total of $45,000 in bonds.
