Funeral Service for Jo Simmons, age 85, of Como, TX, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Ann Wagner and Danny Ballard officiating. Interment will follow at Harmony Cemetery with Michael Simmons, Stephen Simmons, Jeff Simmons, Christopher Simmons, Clint Simmons and Dustin Simmons serving as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Landan Cummins, Levi Simmons, Jaygan Simmons, Trystan Simmons, Michael Simmons, Jr., Justin Simmons, Daylan Simmons, Keifer Simmons, Mason Simmons, Scot Keeble, Jacob Stiff, and Jordan Stiff. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Mrs. Simmons passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Christus Mother Francis Hospital in Tyler.
Jo was born on April 26, 1933 in Hopkins County, TX to Perry Manford Patton and Ollie Bell Nash. She married James Lewis Simmons on November 11, 1953. Mrs. Simmons was a Records Clerk and a member of Full Gospel House of Prayer in Sulphur Springs.
She is survived by three sons, Johnny Simmons and wife Lucy of Seagoville, TX, Robert Simmons of Winnsboro, TX and Troy Simmons and wife, Dot of Como, TX; ten grandchildren, Debbie Keeble, Jamie Monk, Christopher Simmons, Dustin Simmons, Michael Simmons, Stephen Simmons, Jeff Simmons, Clint Simmons, Amy Couch, and Jenifer Cummins; 27 Great Grandchildren, and 18 Great-Great Grandchildren also survive.
Jo was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one daughter, Sharon McKeever; four brothers, Charlie Patton, Bob Patton, Rube Patton and Leonard Patton; and four sisters, Faye Jenkins, Nell Pintler, Abbey Latimer and Inez Story.
Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society in Jo’s name.
