James Ray Clayton, 88, from Hogden Oklahoma formerly of the Horton Community passed away early Thursday morning, November 8, 2018, in Fort Smith Arkansas. James was born in Horton Community, Texas, on August 29, 1930, to Mary Estelle Cantrell and William Jimmy Clayton. He was an auto mechanic and enjoyed carpentry, in his later years, he gave his life to evangelism, he loved the Lord and loved telling people about Him. He was married to Dorothy Christmas Clayton and was a United States Marine Corps veteran. Survivors include his wife Dorothy Clayton and his children. His legacy includes a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren as well as many friends and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents Mary and William Jimmy Clayton, his first wife, Lena Mae Brown Clayton, three daughters; Lucinda Clayton, Christine Hutcherson and Irene Hernandez and a son Lester Clayton. He was also preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 11, 2018, at 2:00 P.M. at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home. Graveside service with military honors will follow on Sunday, November 11, 2018, at 3:00 P.M. at the Horton Community Cemetery with Bro. Terry Bryan officiating. |
