September 26th

At 12:12 a.m., cows were reported out on HWY 182 near Alba.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 1560 near Alba; at approximately 1:06 a.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on Lake Holbrook Point; at approximately 1:15 a.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

At 1:27 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 2966 near Yantis.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on HWY 80 near Mineola; at approximately 1:51 a.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

At 4:23 a.m., cows were reported out on CR 1730 near Yantis.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on FM 49 near Mineola; at approximately 7:59 a.m. Deptuies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

At 8:00 a.m., cows were reported out on HWY 182 near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3340 near Hawkins, at approximately 8:32 a.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies were unable to access the building, due to a locked gate.

At 8:35 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 514 near Yantis.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1360 near Quitman, at approximately 9:04 a.m., in reference to a burglary. Actors, or actors unknown, stole a 4-wheeler from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 80 near Mineola, at approximately 9:45 a.m., in reference to an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. The reporting party’s vehicle was taken without authorization. The vehicle was later found and the actor was arrested by Harrison County.

At 12:19 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 312 near Winnsboro.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2869 near Hawkins, at approximately 1:43 p.m., in reference to a theft. Actors, or actors unknown, stole a large utility trailer from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3987 near Winnsboro, at approximately 1:53 p.m., in reference to an abandoned vehicle. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2425 near Mineola, at approximately 3:31 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies located an open door, but were unable to locate any individuals. The building was secured and the area was cleared.

At 3:48 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 778 near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1246 near Quitman, at approximately 4:27 p.m., in reference to a theft. Actors, or actors unknown, stole electricity from Wood County Electric Cooperative.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4555 near Winnsboro, at approximately 5:22 p.m., in reference to criminal trespass. Deputies searched the area and the residence was secure, but they were unable to locate any individuals.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2869 near Hawkins, at approximately 5:49 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4870 near Winnsboro, at approximately 6:29 p.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and cleared incident.

At 9:01 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 312 near Winnsboro.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 3250 near Quitman; at approximately 10:00 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 2385 near Alba; at approximately 10:03 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on HWY 154 near Quitman; at approximately 10:40 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 14 near Quitman, at approximately 11:20 p.m., in reference to theft. A known actor stole the reporting party’s lawn mower. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

September 27th

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on HWY 154 near Yantis; at approximately 2:17 a.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on HWY 154 near Yantis; at approximately 2:47 a.m. Chase Waller, 35, of Gilmer, was arrested for Driving While License Invalid.

At 7:55 a.m., cows were reported out on HWY 182 near Quitman.

At 8:07 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 778 near Quitman.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 2100 near Quitman; at approximately 8:47 a.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1995 near Yantis, at approximately 8:54 a.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

At 9:15 a.m., cows were reported out on HWY 154 near Yantis.

At 9:15 a.m., cows were reported out on CR 4800 near Winnsboro.

At 9:42 a.m., cows were reported out on HWY 154 near Quitman.

At 10:07 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 312 near Winnsboro.

Deputies were dispatched to PR 6645 near Mineola, at approximately 11:27 a.m., in reference to a burglary. Deputies located the actor and transported her to the hospital.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 14 near Winnsboro, at approximately 11:45 a.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

At 12:31 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 1695 near Alba.

Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to CR 2124 near Quitman; at approximately 1:10 p.m. Deputies were unable to locate the individual with the outstanding warrants. Trevor Byron, 20, of Alba, was arrested for Hindering Apprehension/Prosecution. Dylan Pitre, 21, of Alba, was arrested for Hindering Apprehension/Prosecution.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on FM 779 near Alba; at approximately 8:47 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.

Deputies were dispatched to Wood County Storage in Quitman, at approximately 10:53 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

At 11:17 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 778 near Quitman.

September 28th

At 6:59 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 778 near Quitman.

At 8:02 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 2966 near Quitman.

At 8:39 a.m., horses were reported out on CR 2336 near Mineola.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1246 near Quitman, at approximately 9:06 a.m., in reference to a theft. A known actor stole power from an electric meter box. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to CR 1676 near Alba; at approximately 11:12 a.m. Michael Bandy, 57, of Alba, was arrested for an outstanding warrant and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2966 near Yantis, at approximately 3:41 p.m., in reference to a theft. Actors, or actors unknown, stole a dirt bike from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

At 5:42 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 779 near Quitman.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 6:05 p.m., in reference to a possible burglary that occurred on CR 2388 near Alba. Deputies advised the reporting party that extra patrol would be provided.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1556 near Alba, at approximately 6:19 p.m., in reference to an open door.  Deputies were unable to locate any individuals inside of the construction site. They secured the building and cleared the area.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 312 near Winnsboro, at approximately 6:54 p.m., in reference to criminal trespass. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the actor.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 8:08 p.m., in reference to harassment that occurred on HWY 80 near Mineola. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.

At 8:38 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 1700 near Yantis.

At 8:44 p.m., cows were reported out on SPUR 514 near Yantis.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 1900 near Yantis; at approximately 9:35 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to CR 3900 near Hawkins; at approximately 10:20 p.m. Harold Brown, 66, of Hawkins, was arrested for outstanding warrants.

September 29th

Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to Blackburn St. in Hawkins; at approximately 12:08 a.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 154 near Yantis, at approximately 12:08 a.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any suspicious activity.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2176 near Quitman, at approximately 12:13 a.m., in reference to a noise complaint. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.

Deputies were dispatched to PR 5813 near Yantis, at approximately 12:47 a.m., in reference to a noise complaint. Deputies advised the individuals to lower the volume of their music and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2100 near Quitman, at approximately 1:20 a.m., in reference to a burglary. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any individuals.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 80 near Hawkins, at approximately 3:35 a.m., in reference to criminal trespass. Kevin Evens, 21, of San Antonio, was arrested for Criminal Trespass.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 10:08 a.m., in reference to criminal mischief that occurred on CR 4860 near Winnsboro. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.

At 11:07 a.m., cows were reported out on CR 4760 near Winnsboro.

At 12:38 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 2088 near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 37 near Mineola, at approximately 1:07 p.m., in reference to an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. A known actor took the reporting party’s vehicle without authorization. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 17 near Alba, at approximately 2:08 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individuals and everything was OK.

At 2:14 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 182 near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2503 near Mineola, at approximately 3:11 p.m., in reference to shots fired. Deputies located the individuals, which were shooting in a safe direction, and cleared the incident.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 3:15 p.m., in reference to theft that occurred on FM 14 near Hawkins. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 3:26 p.m., in reference to a scam that occurred on CR 2232 near Mineola. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.

At 4:49 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 2088 near Quitman.

At 5:02 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 2260 near Mineola.

At 6:11 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 779 near Quitman.

At 6:27 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 852 near Winnsboro.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2355 near Mineola, at approximately 7:04 p.m., in reference to shots fired. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 80 near Hawkins, at approximately 7:14 p.m., in reference to an assault. This case is active.

At 7:46 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 1226 near Quitman.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on HWY 80 near Mineola; at approximately 8:57 p.m. Nicholas Whitener, 36, of Wills Point, was arrested for Public Intoxication.

September 30th

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2225 near Yantis, at approximately 12:04 a.m., in reference to an assault. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 17 near Alba, at approximately 12:14 a.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individuals and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to Oak St. in Yantis, at approximately 12:16 a.m., in reference to an assault. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to Lake Holbrook near Mineola, at approximately 12:48 a.m., in reference to an assault. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1813 near Yantis, at approximately 1:45 a.m., in reference to a reckless driver. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2176 near Quitman, at approximately 3:42 a.m., in reference to a noise complaint. Deputies advised the individuals to lower the volume of the music and the scene was cleared.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on HWY 154 near Yantis; at approximately 12:42 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

At 1:10 p.m., horses were reported out on CR 3860 near Hawkins.

At 1:36 p.m., horses were reported out on FM 312 near Winnsboro.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2869 near Hawkins, at approximately 2:57 p.m., in reference to a theft. Actors, or actors unknown, stole several items from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 852 near Winnsboro, at approximately 6:09 p.m., in reference to a burglary. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and determined it was a civil matter.

Deputies were dispatched to PR 7533 near Hawkins, at approximately 7:52 p.m., in reference to shots fired. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and cleared the incident.

October 1st

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 2264 near Mineola; at approximately 12:31 a.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 9:11 a.m., in reference to a violation of a protective order that occurred on CR 2935 near Alba. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4940 near Quitman, at approximately 9:21 a.m., in reference to a disturbance. Parties were separated for the day.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3460 near Hawkins, at approximately 10:37 a.m., in reference to an abandoned vehicle. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3990 near Winnsboro, at approximately 2:04 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Jody Whitworth, 44, of Winnsboro, was arrested for Assault Causes Bodily Injury.

At 3:34 p.m., horses were reported out on CR 3500 near Hawkins.

At 8:12 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 4255 near Winnsboro.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4495 near Winnsboro, at approximately 10:34 p.m., in reference to criminal trespass. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any individuals.

Deputies were dispatched o CR 4660 near Winnsboro, at approximately 11:00 p.m., in reference to criminal mischief. A known actor damaged the reporting party’s vehicle. Deputies issued a Criminal Trespass Warning and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to PR 8574 near Winnsboro, at approximately 11:47 p.m., in reference to an assault. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

October 2nd

Deputies were dispatched to FM 515 near Winnsboro, at approximately 9:15 a.m., in reference to criminal mischief. Actors, or actors unknown, damaged the reporting party’s fence.

At 10:27 a.m., cows were reported out on CR 4549 near Winnsboro.

Deputies were dispatched to Alba Golden ISD, at approximately 1:21 p.m., in reference to illegal dumping. A known actor dumped trash in the school dumpster without authorization. This case is active.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 80 near Mineola, at approximately 1:25 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and cleared the incident.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 2:26 p.m., in reference to terroristic threat that occurred on FM 515 near Yantis. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 69 near Alba, at approximately 5:56 p.m., in reference to shots fired. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and cleared the incident.

At 6:51 p.m., cows were reported out on HWY 154 near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3163 near Quitman, at approximately 6:54 p.m., in reference to a reckless driver. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2790 near Mineola, at approximately 8:52 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies spoke with the homeowner and determined it was an accident.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 69 near Mineola, at approximately 9:16 p.m., in reference to a reckless driver. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1700 near Yantis, at approximately 10:39 p.m., in reference to criminal trespass. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any individuals.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on CR 1214 near Quitman; at approximately 10:53 p.m. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.

Between the dates of September 26 and October 2, Wood County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to multiple agency assists that included the following: Child Protective Services, Emergency Medical Services, Police Departments and Smith County.

Between the dates of September 26 and October 2, Wood County Sheriff’s Investigators obtained 2 arrest warrants and arrested the individuals.

Total Jail Count –109 inmates –89 males and 20 females.
