Four Arrested Early Sunday

No front license plate drew the attention of the Sulphur Springs Police Officer and he initiated a traffic stop in the 300 block of Bill Bradford Road Sunday around 1:30 a.m. As he made contact with the four individuals in the van, the strong odor of marijuana emitted from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle yielded a sizable amount of suspected Ecstasy also known as MDMA.

The four arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, more than 4-grams but less than 400-grams, a Felony 2, are in Hopkins County jail. Each one is held on a $30,000 bond.

Arrested were:

Clifford Mogaka Nyabera, 37, of Missouri City, TX
Joshua Ryan Knox, 26, of Mesquite 
Christopher Dale Moore, 28, of Houston
Jose Alberto Mejia, 28, of Houston

A document provided to KSST, filed with the court October 19, 2019, explains the charges for Clifford Mogaka Nyabera, 37, of Missouri City, TX were dropped. The reason given by the District Attorney: A co-defendant accepted full responsibility for the offence.
