June 20th

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on HWY 154 near Quitman; at approximately 12:47 a.m. Deputies located the individual and cleared the incident.

At 2:50 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 4520 near Winnsboro.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2258 near Mineola, at approximately 3:25 p.m., in reference to a dispute. Parties were separated for the day.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3250 near Winnsboro, at approximately 4:10 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.

At 5:56 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 2275 near Mineola.

At 6:19 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 4196 near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2088 near Quitman, at approximately 6:43 p.m., in reference to an abandoned vehicle. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3978 near Winnsboro, at approximately 7:48 p.m., in reference to a theft. Penny Morris, 47, of Hawkins, was arrested for Theft of Property.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2436 near Mineola, at approximately 8:39 p.m., in reference to a dispute. Parties were separated for the night.

At 9:22 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 1122 near Quitman.

June 21st

At 12:10 a.m., cows were reported out on HWY 154 near Quitman.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on CR 2270 near Mineola; at approximately 12:20 a.m. Barron Duplechein, 38, of Mineola, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

At 1:04 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 779 near Alba.

At 1:16 a.m., cows were reported out on HWY 154 near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 37 near Quitman, at approximately 1:34 a.m., in reference to an assault. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2869 near Hawkins, at approximately 2:47 a.m., in reference to a dispute. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1612 near Alba, at approximately 4:47 a.m., in reference to a structural fire. Alba Fire Department extinguished the fire and the scene was cleared.

At 8:03 a.m., cows were reported out on CR 3230 near Quitman.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 1:04 p.m., in reference to terroristic threat that occurred on CR 3947 near Hawkins. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 1:31 p.m., in reference to theft that occurred on CR 4540 near Winnsboro. Deputies advised the reporting party that extra patrol would be provided.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 778 near Mineola, at approximately 1:37 p.m., in reference to a dispute. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4430 near Winnsboro, at approximately 2:55 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies made contact with the home owner and the building was secure.

At 3:05 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 1660 near Alba.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3220 near Quitman, at approximately 4:41 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1558 near Alba, at approximately 5:17 p.m., in reference to a theft. A known actor stole the reporting party’s boat. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 37 near Mineola, at approximately 8:52 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. John Amos Johnson, IV, 41, of Mineola, was arrested for Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family Violence and Interference with an Emergency Call.

At 9:15 p.m., horses were reported out on FM 852 near Winnsboro.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2432 near Mineola, at approximately 9:15 p.m., in reference to a noise complaint. The music was turned off, prior to the deputies’ arrival.

Deputies were dispatched to Walnut St. in Yantis, at approximately 10:03 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.

At 10:45 p.m., cows were reported out on HWY 154 near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 37 near Mineola, at approximately 11:57 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

June 22nd

At 8:13 a.m., cows were reported out on CR 3147 near Quitman.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 8:41 a.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies advised the reporting party that extra patrol would be provided.

Deputies were dispatched to Loop 564 near Mineola, at approximately 9:47 a.m., in reference to an abandoned vehicle. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

At 10:08 a.m., horses were reported out on FM 852 near Winnsboro.

Deputies were dispatched to Holiday Village Drive near Quitman, at approximately 10:31 a.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies found a male deceased in his residence. The Justice of the Peace arrived and an autopsy was ordered.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on CR 4560 near Winnsboro; at approximately 12:33 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.

At 1:11 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 2590 near Mineola.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 69 near Mineola, at approximately 3:46 p.m., in reference to a reckless driver. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

At 6:13 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 779 near Mineola.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4895 near Winnsboro, at approximately 6:25 p.m., in reference to a fire. Deputies arrived and determined the homeowners were burning brush.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4770 near Winnsboro, at approximately 7:47 p.m., in reference to a dispute. James Ellison, 35, of Winnsboro, was arrested for a Public Intoxication.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 7:59 p.m., in reference to a dispute that occurred on CR 2140 near Quitman. Deputies determined it was a civil matter and gave the reporting party advice.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2659 near Hawkins, at approximately 8:18 p.m., in reference to a dispute. David Bates, 55, of Hawkins, was arrested for Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family Violence.

Deputies were dispatched to Lake Holbrook point, at approximately 10:03 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. All parties left the scene, prior to the deputies’ arrival.

June 23rd

At 12:02 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 779 near Mineola.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 2:27 a.m., in reference to a noise complaint that occurred on PR 6778 near Hawkins. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.

At 7:30 a.m., cows were reported out on HWY 37 near Winnsboro.

At 7:55 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 852 near Winnsboro.

Deputies were dispatched to PR 6606 near Mineola, at approximately 11:57 a.m., in reference to a disturbance. Deputies issued a Criminal Trespass Warning and cleared the incident.

At 12:55 p.m., horses were reported out on CR 4560 near Winnsboro.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4532 near Winnsboro, at approximately 12:57 p.m., in reference to a theft. Actors, or actors unknown, stole livestock from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2122 near Quitman, at approximately 2:04 p.m., in reference to an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Deputies spoke with all parties and determined it was a civil matter.

Deputies were dispatched to PR 8470 near Winnsboro, at approximately 3:57 p.m., in reference to a theft. Actors, or actors unknown, stole lead wire and ground wire from the reporting party’s welder. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 5:13 p.m., in reference to a noise complaint on CR 1941 near Yantis. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3580 near Winnsboro, at approximately 9:45 p.m., in reference to a noise complaint. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3455 near Hawkins, at approximately 9:52 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any individuals.

June 24th

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 80 near Mineola, at approximately 1:27 a.m., in reference to an abandoned vehicle. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on Lake Holbrook beach; at approximately 1:50 a.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on FM 2869 near Winnsboro, at approximately 3:17 a.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on FM 2659 near Hawkins; at approximately 8:45 a.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

At 8:58 a.m., cows were reported out on HWY 37 near Winnsboro.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3204 near Quitman, at approximately 10:07 a.m., in reference to a theft. A known actor used the reporting party’s debit/credit card without authorization. This case is active.

Deputies were dispatched to Oak St. in Yantis, at approximately 10:35 a.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

Deputies were dispatched to PR 5938 near Yantis, at approximately 12:45 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 5:14 p.m., in reference to a suspicious vehicle on Choctaw near Quitman. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2088 near Winnsboro, at approximately 6:15 p.m., in reference to an abandoned vehicle. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on HWY 37 near Quitman. Jay Hooker, 32, of Yantis, was arrested for Driving While License Invalid and outstanding warrants.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 154 near Quitman, at approximately 6:55 p.m., in reference to a criminal trespass. Deputies spoke with the reporting party and determined it was a civil matter.

At 8:13 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 1602 near Alba.

At 8:50 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 779 near Alba.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1306 near Quitman, at approximately 9:29 p.m., in reference to terroristic threat. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and determined no terroristic threats occurred.

Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service on FM 2966 near Quitman; at approximately 11:25 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.

June 25th

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on Lake Holbrook beach; at approximately 12:13 a.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to CR 4471 near Winnsboro; at approximately 12:23 a.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.

At 8:01 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 69 near Alba.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4583 near Winnsboro, at approximately 11:29 a.m., in reference to a dispute. Parties were separated for the day.

At 2:38 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 1540 near Alba.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1970 near Yantis, at approximately 4:15 p.m., in reference to harassment. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4560 near Winnsboro, at approximately 5:00 p.m., in reference to a dispute. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1416 near Quitman, at approximately 5:17 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

Deputies were dispatched to Fm 778 near Hawkins, at approximately 5:25 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies issued a Criminal Trespass Warning and cleared the incident.

Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to CR 3494 near Hawkins; at approximately 7:49 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on CR 3264 near Quitman; at approximately 8:39 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.

June 26th

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 4:00 a.m., in reference to an assault. The reporting party stated they just wanted it on record.

Deputies were dispatched to Candlelight Cove near Hawkins, at approximately 9:07 a.m., in reference to an inquest. A male, 62, was found deceased in his residence. The Justice of the Peace arrived and no autopsy was ordered.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1336 near Quitman, at approximately 10:02 a.m., in reference to criminal mischief. Actors, or actors unknown, damaged the reporting party’s front door of their residence. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3854 near Hawkins, at approximately 11:46 a.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any suspicious activity.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on FM 2869 near Hawkins; at approximately 12:21 p.m. Bobbie Wagner, 37, of Gilmer, was arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Fictitious Counterfeit Inspection/Insurance Documents for Display.

At 12:23 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 1970 near Yantis.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1306 near Quitman, at approximately 1:45 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Deputies issued a Criminal Trespass Warning and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3999 near Winnsboro, at approximately 2:17 p.m., in reference to a reckless driver. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

At 2:53 p.m., horses were reported out on CR 4870 near Winnsboro.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1475 near Quitman, at approximately 3:14 p.m., in reference to an abandoned vehicle. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

At 7:04 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 1822 near Yantis.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3849 near Hawkins, at approximately 8:30 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 154 near Quitman, at approximately 10:02 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on FM 1801 near Mineola, at approximately 11:29 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 1647 near Winnsboro, at approximately 11:51 p.m., in reference to a noise complaint. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.

Between the dates of June 20 and June 26, Wood County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to multiple agency assists that included Police Departments and Child Protective Services.

Between the dates of June 20 and June 26, Wood County Sheriff’s Investigators obtained 3 arrest warrants and arrested the individuals.

Total Jail Count – 128 inmates – 99 males and 29 females.
