Mesquite Man With 10.7 Pounds of Meth Arrested by Local DPS; Wanted by U S Marshalls

Daniel Lopez, 38, of Mesquite is in Hopkins County Jail held without bond on a warrant out of the U S Marshalls Service and for Manufacture Deliver 10.7 pounds of methamphetamine ice.

Lopez was stopped for a traffic violation by DPS Trooper Aaron Hanna at the 129 mile marker on I-30 Monday evening, July 23, 2018, around 9:30 p.m. Showing signs of nervousness and criminal activity, Lopez gave consent to search the vehicle he was driving. In an aftermarket compartment, the trooper found the 10.7 pounds of meth. It was also found that he was wanted on the U S Marshalls’ Service warrant.
