The Wildcats’ baseball team jumped out to a 6-0 lead after four innings against Texas High Tuesday night at Wildcat Park and then held on to defeat the Tigers, 6-4.
The Wildcats scored three runs in the bottom of the second and three more in the bottom of the fourth. The Tigers managed two runs in the top of the fifth and two runs in the top of the seventh. The Wildcats ended up with 9 hits and Texas High had 6.
Kaden Argenbright drove home four runs for the Wildcats and Gavin Millsap brought two runs home. Argenbright was 3 for 4 with three singles. Millsap was 2 for 3 with two singles and two runs scored. Austin Dodd was 2 for 3 with a run and two singles. Dawson Draper and Jase Thompson were both 1 for 3 with a single and a run scored. Pacen Edwards also scored a run.
Ryan Humphries went all seven innings allowing 4 runs on 6 hits with 3 strikeouts. The Wildcats are now 3-0 in district play and they are 9-7 for the season.
After an open date Friday, the Wildcats are at Mount Pleasant next Tuesday night.
