August 30th

Deputies spoke with the reporting party at approximately 8:23 a.m., in reference to a dog bite that occurred on CR 3495 near Hawkins. The owner of the dog was advised of the quarantine protocol.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3802 near Hawkins, at approximately 10:16 a.m., in reference to a burglary. Actors, or actors unknown, stole several items from the reporting party’s residence. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

At 11:42 a.m., horses were reported out on CR 3104 near Quitman.

At 1:48 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 4919 near Quitman.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party at approximately 2:20 p.m., in reference to a burglary. A known actor stole items from the reporting party’s residence. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

At 3:06 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 4760 near Winnsboro.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party at approximately 3:12 p.m., in reference to criminal trespass on CR 2298 near Mineola. A Criminal Trespass Warning was issued.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party at approximately 3:22 p.m., in reference to a theft that occurred on HWY 37 near Winnsboro. Actors, or actors unknown, stole a bench from the reporting party’s property.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party at approximately 3:57 p.m., in reference to criminal mischief on FM 312 near Winnsboro. Actors, or actors unknown, damaged the reporting party’s fence.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 17 near Alba, at approximately 6:16 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

Deputies were dispatched to Hwy 154 near Yantis, at approximately 7:00 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Parties separated, prior to the deputies’ arrival.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party at approximately 7:35 p.m., in reference to debit/credit card abuse on HWY 80 near Mineola. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

At 8:13 p.m., horses were reported out on CR 3130 near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1556 near Alba, at approximately 11:17 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. The individual was located and everything was OK.

August 31st

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2435 near Mineola, at approximately 2:09 a.m., in reference to a disturbance. Craig Garrett, 42, of Mineola, was arrested for Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family Violence and Interference with Emergency Request for Assistance.

Deputies were dispatched to Quitman Emergency Room, at approximately 3:10 a.m., in reference to an inquest. A female, 72, passed away. The Justice of the Peace arrived and no autopsy was ordered.

Deputies went out on an Arrest/Warrant Service on Main St. near Winnsboro; at approximately 11:29 a.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.

At 1:14 p.m., donkeys were reported out on HWY 778 near Quitman.

At 1:24 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 4760 near Winnsboro.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 14 near Quitman, at approximately 4:05 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

At 7:57 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 2260/CR 2232 near Mineola.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3824 near Hawkins, at approximately 8:15 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Parties separated, prior to the deputies’ arrival.

At 8:37 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 2869 near Winnsboro.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 312 near Winnsboro, at approximately 9:41 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies searched the building and it was secure.

Deputies responded to a reckless driving call on CR 2332 near Mineola; at approximately 9:55 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle and a citation was issued.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1970 near Yantis, at approximately 10:38 p.m., in reference to burglary of a building. Actors, or actors unknown, removed metal siding from the exterior portion of the reporting party’s building. This case is active.

At 11:09 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 1416 near Quitman.

September 1st

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4116 near Quitman, at approximately 1:44 a.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies located the activity and everything was cleared.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2754 near Mineola, at approximately 10:48 a.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 1795 near Hawkins, at approximately 11:32 a.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 154 near Quitman, at approximately 11:32 a.m., in reference to a disturbance. Parties were separated and the scene was cleared.

Deputies went out on an Arrest/Warrant Service to CR 2460 near Mineola; at approximately 3:23 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.

Deputies went out on an Arrest/Warrant Service to McWhorter St. near Mineola; at approximately 3:48 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.

Deputies went out on an Arrest/Warrant Service to Pegues St. near Mineola; at approximately 4:06 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.

At 6:10 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 2869/CR 1360.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1600 near Alba, at approximately 9:45 p.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies located the activity and everything was cleared.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 779 near Alba, at approximately 11:50 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Danny McCormack, 44, of Alba, was arrested for Assault by Contact.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on HWY 80 near Hawkins; at approximately 11:57 p.m. Deputies located and confiscated narcotics from the vehicle. Jerome Stevenson, 22, of Big Sandy, was arrested for Manufacturing and Delivering a Controlled Substance.

September 2nd

Deputies were dispatched to FM 14 near Hawkins, at approximately 12:45 a.m., in reference to a noise complaint. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.

At 8:11 a.m., horses were reported out on FM 49 near Mineola.

At 9:28 a.m., cows were reported out on CR 1900 near Yantis.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2377 near Alba, at approximately 10:20 a.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

At 12:44 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 1880 near Yantis.

Deputies responded to a reckless driver on FM 2088 near Quitman; at approximately 5:57 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on HWY 37 near Quitman; at approximately 8:22 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

At 10:21 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 2869 near Winnsboro.

Deputies were dispatched to Main St. near Yantis, at approximately 10:49 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 1799 near Mineola, at approximately 11:14 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Parties separated, prior to the deputies’ arrival.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2088 near Quitman, at approximately 11:45 p.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies located the activity and everything was cleared.

At 11:58 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 1416 near Quitman.

September 3rd

Deputies went out on an Arrest/Warrant Service to CR 2263 near Mineola; at approximately 8:24 a.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.

Deputies went out on an Arrest/Warrant Service to Blair St. near Mineola; at approximately 9:54 a.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.

Deputies were dispatched to Oak Shadow Cove near Hawkins, at approximately 1:48 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on FM 778 near Quitman; at approximately 6:19 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to Lake Holbrook, at approximately 6:33 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Parties were separated for the night.

At 8:14 p.m., horses were reported out on FM 2088 near Quitman.

At 8:26 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 4608 near Winnsboro.

September 4th

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1410 near Quitman, at approximately 12:09 a.m., in reference to a disturbance. David Martinez, 26, of Quitman, was arrested for Resisting Arrest Search or Transport.

At 4:39 a.m., horses were reported out on HWY 37 near Quitman.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on HWY 69 near Mineola; at approximately 8:34 a.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4470 near Winnsboro, at approximately 5:47 a.m., in reference to an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. A known actor took the vehicle from the reporting party’s property without consent. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 4660 near Winnsboro; at approximately 4:33 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4192 near Quitman, at approximately 5:30 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 154 near Quitman, at approximately 6:16 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Parties were separated for the night.

Deputies were dispatched to Holly Trail near Hawkins, at approximately 6:30 p.m., in reference to an assault that occurred. Shane Ambort, 44, of Hawkins, was arrested for Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family Violence.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 14 near Hawkins, at approximately 6:30 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2869 near Winnsboro, at approximately 7:53 a.m., in reference to a theft. Actors, or actors unknown, stole several items from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1807 near Yantis, at approximately 10:55 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Parties were separated for the night.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 1254 near Mineola, at approximately 11:35 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

September 5th

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 69 near Alba, at approximately 4:23 a.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.

Deputies were dispatched to Loop 564 near Mineola, at approximately 7:33 a.m., in reference to a theft. Actors, or actors unknown, stole a pressure washer trailer from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

At 8:58 a.m., cows were reported out on CR 1900 near Yantis.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 9:52 a.m., in reference to a burglary that occurred on CR 4631 near Winnsboro. Actors, or actors unknown, stole a purse out of the reporting party’s vehicle. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4560 near Winnsboro, at approximately 12:38 p.m., in reference to a burglary. A known actor stole items from the reporting party’s residence. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2869 near Hawkins, at approximately 3:13 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 69 near Alba, at approximately 5:57 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2122 near Quitman, at approximately 6:53 p.m., in reference to a theft. A known actor stole an air compressor out of the reporting party’s vehicle. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 3580 near Winnsboro, at approximately 7:26 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1975 near Yantis, at approximately 7:30 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4560 near Winnsboro, at approximately 8:34 p.m., in reference to a burglary. Actors, or actors unknown, stole a firearm from the reporting party’s vehicle. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 4196 near Quitman; at approximately 9:53 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1326 near Quitman, at approximately 10:19 p.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.

Between the dates of August 30th and September 5th, Wood County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to multiple agency assists that included several Police Departments.

Total Jail Count – 146 prisoners – 116 males and 30 females.
