The Wildcats’ team tennis squad played a competitive non-district match against Pleasant Grove Saturday morning at the Wildcat Tennis Complex. The Hawks took a 12-8 win.
The Wildcats got wins in five boys’ singles matches, two boys’ doubles matches and in a mixed doubles match. In boys singles, Jonah Kirkpatrick won 9-8 in a tiebreaker, Blaine Flemens won 8-3, Chase Crouch won 8-5, Aaron Lucas won 8-0 and Jordan Gonzales won 8-1. In boys doubles, the team of Alex Benitez and Kirkpatrick won 8-6 and the team of Crouch and Flemens won 8-6. The mixed doubles team of Lucas and Heather Harris won 8-1. In the days last match, sophomore Logan Schumacher battled into a tiebreaker in boys singles before losing 9-8.
The Wildcats are 2-7 for the season. They resume district play at Texas High Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. The Wildcats are 1-1 in district play.
