Wood County Sheriff’s Report:

June 7th

At 4:11 a.m., cows were reported out on CR 4730 near Winnsboro.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2966 near Quitman, at approximately 8:00 a.m., in reference to a disturbance. Both parties involved were told to separate.

At 9:43 a.m., deputies were dispatched to CR 3495 on a warrant service. Kevin Foster, 28, of Hawkins, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on FM 1801 near Mineola, at approximately 1:30 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies responded to an alarm on HWY 80 near Mineola, at approximately 4:53 p.m. The property owner arrived and the alarm was cancelled.

Deputies responded to an alarm on CR 2425 near Mineola, at approximately 6:16 p.m. The owner was contacted and deputies were informed that it was an accident.

June 8th

At 6:31 a.m., deputies responded to an alarm on HWY 154 near Yantis. Deputies checked the area and everything was secure.

Deputies were dispatched to PR 7997 near Winnsboro, at approximately 8:00 a.m., in regards to suspicious circumstances. Property of an unknown individual was found on the reporting party’s property and was confiscated.

Deputies made contact with the reporting party, at approximately 1:11 p.m., in reference to a criminal trespass. Deputies gave the reporting party information needed.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party over the phone, at approximately 5:22 p.m., in reference to theft. A pistol was stolen from the reporting party’s vehicle. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

At 11:05 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 2966/E of HWY 154.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 69 near Mineola, at approximately 11:43 p.m., in reference to a suspicious person. The call was cancelled while deputies were en route.

June 9th

Deputies were dispatched to PR 5991 near Yantis, at approximately 1:32 a.m., on a warrant service. David Roche, 46, of Yantis, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on HWY 37 near Mineola, at approximately 2:11 a.m. When deputies arrived, it appeared the car lights had been left on from earlier in the day.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 49 near Mineola, at approximately 7:36 a.m., on a warrant service. Melissa Boaz, 37, of Mineola, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

Deputies were dispatched to White Dove near Quitman, at approximately 9:20 a.m., in reference to a theft. An American flag and a Texas flag were stolen from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on FM 778 near Hawkins, at approximately 9:25 a.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies were dispatched to White Dove near Quitman, at approximately 12:51 p.m., in reference to a theft. A license plate was stolen from the reporting party’s vehicle.

Deputies were dispatched to Comanchee near Quitman, at approximately 3:34 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. David Boren, 58, of Quitman, was arrested for Disorderly Conduct.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 2150 near Quitman, at approximately 6:44 p.m. The property owner requested the vehicle be removed.

At 7:48 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 49/W of Pine Mills.

Deputies responded to an alarm on CR 2425 near Mineola, at approximately 7:59 p.m. The residence was secure, and the owner told deputies the alarm was accidentally set off.

Deputies noticed a traffic hazard, while patrolling on HWY 515, at approximately 8:04 p.m. Deputies provided assistance in pushing a vehicle to a gas station, and removed the vehicle from the lane of traffic.

At 9:27 p.m., cows were reported out on HWY 154/FM 515.

At 10:49 p.m., horses were reported out on FM 2088/W of 2869.

June 10th

Deputies were dispatched to Coke Rd near Winnsboro, at approximately 5:38 a.m., in reference to an inquest. A female, 42, was pronounced dead at 5:04 a.m. An autopsy was ordered by the Justice of the Peace.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4691 near Winnsboro, at approximately 7:02 a.m., in reference to an incident. Richard Spence, 51, of Winnsboro, was arrested for Violate Condition of Bond/Violation of Protective Order.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on CR 2382 near Quitman, at approximately 7:54 a.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the reported person.

Deputies were dispatched to Geronimo near Quitman, at approximately 11:45 a.m., in reference to a burglary. The locks on the reporting party’s storage unit were cut, and a weed eater was stolen. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on HWY 37 near Winnsboro, at approximately 12:54 p.m. Deputies checked the area and the vehicle appeared to be abandoned.

At 1:33 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 779 near Alba.

At 4:00 p.m., horses were reported out on FM 515 near Winnsboro.

Deputies were dispatched to Lake Holbrook, at approximately 7:11 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Charlie Cadenhead, 32, of Winnsboro, was arrested for Public Intoxication.

Deputies noticed a traffic hazard while they were patrolling on CR 4865, at approximately 8:25 p.m. Deputies removed a large pile of hay from the lane of traffic.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 1799 near Mineola, at approximately 8:38 p.m., in reference to a burglary. A known actor damaged the victim’s property, and stole several items. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 3420 near Hawkins, at approximately 9:19 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 154 near Quitman, at approximately 11:53 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. All parties involved were separated for the night.

June 11th

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4546 near Winnsboro, at approximately 1:23 a.m., in reference to a theft. Actors, or actors unknown, stole several items from the reporting party’s residence. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3425 near Hawkins, at approximately 6:11 a.m., in reference to an inquest. A female, 79, was pronounced dead at 6:00 a.m.

At 7:21 a.m., horses were reported out on FM 515 near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4529 near Winnsboro, at approximately 8:36 a.m., where an assault occurred. Jonathan McGee, 35, of Winnsboro, was arrested for Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family Violence.

Deputies responded to a disturbance on CR 2840 near Mineola, at approximately 7:10 p.m. The reporting party wanted a criminal trespassing warning issued to a known individual. Deputies searched, but were unable to locate the individual to issue the warning.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on FM 2869 near Hawkins, at approximately 7:54 p.m. The individual was located and cleared.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle near Lake Winnsboro, at approximately 8:11 p.m. Deputies patrolled the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1558 near Alba, at approximately 10:34 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Roy Smith, 56, of Alba, was arrested for Disorderly Conduct.

June 12

Deputies were dispatched to FM 515, at approximately 12:02 a.m., in reference to a suspicious vehicle. The owner was located and cleared.

At 12:37 a.m., horses were reported out on FM 49/E of Hainsville.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on CR 2660 near Mineola, at approximately 2:05 a.m. Deputies spoke with parties involved, but were unable to make contact with the actor.

Deputies responded to an alarm on CR 4700 near Winnsboro, at approximately 8:46 a.m. Deputies checked the area and the residence was secure.

Deputies were dispatched to Arapaho near Quitman, at approximately 11:05 a.m., in reference to a disturbance. Michael Long, 57, of Quitman was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Contraband in a Correctional Facility.

Deputies made contact with the reporting party about a theft, at approximately 12:22 p.m. A gun was stolen from the reporting party’s residence on CR 2430 near Mineola.

Deputies responded to a disturbance on HWY 37 near Mineola, at approximately 12:41 p.m. The actor left the scene prior to their arrival.

At 12:58 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 49.

Deputies made contact over the phone with the reporting party, at approximately 4:26 p.m., regarding a theft. A license plate was stolen from the reporting party’s vehicle on PR 5551 near Alba.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 80 near Hawkins, at approximately 5:34 p.m., in reference to an assault that occurred. Ron Hood, 52, of Hawkins, was arrested for Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family Violence and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Deputies responded to an alarm on HWY 154 near Yantis, at approximately 11:48 p.m. Deputies checked the area and the building was secure.

At 11:57 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 2376.

June 13th

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on CR 3440 near Hawkins, at approximately 1:11 a.m. Zachary Crumpton, 29, of Hawkins, was arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Deputies responded to an alarm on FM 14 near Hawkins, at approximately 5:14 p.m. Deputies checked the area and the residence was secure.

Deputies made contact with the reporting party, at approximately 6:45 p.m., regarding harassment that occurred on FM 515 near Yantis.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1941 near Yantis, at approximately 7:19 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Both parties involved were told to separate.

At 10:21 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 2231 near Mineola.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1616 near Alba, at approximately 11:01 p.m., in reference to an assault. Prior to the deputies’ arrival, the known actor left the scene and deputies were unable to locate him.

Between the dates of June 7th and June 13th, Wood County Deputies responded to multiple agency assists that included the following: Wood County Fire Marshall, EMS, and Police Departments.

Total Jail Count – 140 prisoners – 116 males and 24 females.
