Rowlett scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a walk off 7-6 win over the Lady Cats’ softball team in an Allen tournament Friday. After both teams scored four times in a wild first inning, the Lady Cats took a 6-4 lead with two runs in the second inning. The lead held until Rowlett’s late winning rally. The Lady Cats outhit Rowlett, 8-5. For the Lady Cats, Hannah Crowson had 3 hits and Alyssa Abron had 2 hits. Alli Fite and Sadie Stroud both had 2 rbi’s.
The Lady Cats swept two games on the first day of a Allen tournament Thursday. The Lady Cats downed Frisco Liberty, 3-1 and later topped McKinney North, 9-4.
In the win over Frisco Liberty, the Lady Cats outhit Frisco Liberty, 7-5. The Lady Cats scored one run in the third inning and two more in the fourth. Frisco Liberty scored 1 in the fifth inning. Alli Fite got the pitching win and she struck out 7. Abron had 2 hits.
In their late game Thursday, the Lady Cats downed McKinney North, 9-4. Bailey Haggerty got the pitching win and she struck out 4. The Lady Cats outhit McKinney North, 10-6. Jaye Doughtie, Crowson and Stroud had 2 hits apiece. Abron drew 3 walks and Brinklee Drive had 2. Driver and Kelsey Wallace had 2 rbi’s. The Lady Cats play Dallas W.T. White at 3 p.m. Friday. They will play Sherman Saturday morning at 11 a.m. The Friday loss dropped the Lady Cats season record to 6-2.
