Texas Department of Transportation officials today announced that traffic signals at US 69 and FM 515 in Emory in Rains County will be down due to construction for about one week beginning Feb. 22.
While the signals are out of commission, motorists and vehicles traveling north and south on US 69 will not have to stop at the intersection of US 69 and FM 515, officials said.
However, motorists and vehicles traveling on FM 515 and Industrial Drive will have to stop before crossing or turning onto US 69. Advance warning signs will be placed along FM 515 and Industrial Drive to notify motorists and drivers of the temporary change in traffic flow.
Motorists who regularly travel these roads are urged to pay special attention to all signs and traffic controls, and to reduce their speed as they travel through this area. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems.
