After battling Texas High for three quarters, the Lady Cats’ basketball team outscored the Lady Tigers 20-8 in the fourth quarter to clinch a 48-37 win in Wildcats Gym Monday afternoon. The Lady Cats led at the end of the first quarter 11-5 but the Lady Tigers roared back in the second quarter to lead 22-17 at the half. Texas High held a one point lead at the end of the third, 29-28. Lady Cats are now 2-1 in district play.
Kaylee Jefferson hit 9 of 11 free throws and led the Lady Cats with 15 points. Daieyshia Pruitt scored 9 points while Sadavia Porter and Destinee Weeks had 7 points apiece. Weeks came alive in the fourth quarter to score all 7 of her points.
After Christmas break, the Lady Cats will play in an Idabel, Oklahoma tournament December 28-30.
