Funeral services for Ida Janette McKeever, age 80, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 18, 2015 at Union Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Boyt officiating. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery with Jacob McKeever, Tyrel McKeever, Donnie Attaway, Gary Attaway, Mark Cauto and Joshua Cauto serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be conducted from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, May 17, 2015 at West Oaks Funeral Home.
Mrs. McKeever passed away Friday, May 15, 2015 at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler, TX. She was born on June 23, 1934 in Yantis, TX, the daughter of Joda and Ida Mae Crabtree Attaway. She married James Travis McKeever on March 28, 1953 in Yantis, TX. He preceded her in death on July 9, 2014. Mrs. McKeever taught 2nd grade at Lamar Elementary for 24 years, she was a homemaker and a member of Union Baptist Church and a member of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by two sons, James Robert McKeever and wife Debbie of Cleburne, TX and David Charles McKeever of Sulphur Springs, daughter-in-law, Carol McKeever of Yantis, grandchildren, Tyrell McKeever, Amber Henegar, Audra Clark, Jacob McKeever, Josh Coffman, Amanda Trammell, 17 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents and son, Dalton Leigh McKeever. Memorials may be made to Union Cemetery, 120 Lou Street, Sulphur Springs, TX 75482.
