Ladycats Drop Home Opener
The Lady Cats’ volleyball team dropped their home opener to North Lamar, 3-0 at Wildcats Gym Tuesday night. The Lady Cats played the Pantherettes tougher as the evening progressed but North Lamar won 25-17, 25-19 and 25-23. North Lamar, ranked #8 in Class 4A, improved to 7-1 for the season. MADD Family Fun Glow Walk
It’s still more than a month away but already 132 walkers or runners have signed up to participate in the 2nd annual MADD Family Fun Glow Walk on Saturday, September 27 at Buford Park in Sulphur Springs. Dare To Dream Underway At Douglas
The three-day Dare to Dream Camp got underway Wednesday at Douglas Intermediate School in Sulphur Springs. 120 fifth graders to be at Douglas registered to attend the leadership building camp. Deputy Scott Makes Multiple Arrests Tuesday
Tuesday Hopkins County Sheriff’s deputy Joe Scott arrested a man for theft of a trailer and three people for stealing a pickup truck. Working on a tip, Deputy Scott found a stolen trailer in the 600 block of Whitworth Street. It had been stolen from the 200 block of Whitworth last Wednesday. Lady Cats Volleyball Wins Two Games In Tourney
The Lady Cats’ volleyball team won two games and lost three in a tournament in Van Friday and Saturday. The Lady Cats won their pool Friday despite an opening loss to Quitman. Wildcats Football Coach Greg Owens admits to sometimes walking off the practice field disgruntled about the way things are going.
