The Sulphur Springs High School Senior Class of 2015 is having a Zombie Run and Fun to raise money to defray costs of their Project Graduation Celebration. There are now three contestants for Fall Festival Cover Girl. One young lady decided to drop out Friday. Summer Paving Program Extending Into Fall Season
The city of Sulphur Springs Summer Paving Program is a Fall Paving Program again this year and it’s now underway in earnest. A contractor is doing the overlay work on several streets around town. Meanwhile a city crew will soon start reconstruction work on Lamar Street. It will also include water, sewer and drainage improvements. High School Theatre Department Raising Funds For United Way
The Sulphur Springs High School Theatre Department is having a play with dessert featuring the short comedy 10 Ways to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse. It will take place Thursday, October 30 on the Middle School Stage. New Sulphur Springs High School Theatre Arts Director Lesha Woodard said Tuesday the fall production, Shrek The Musical, is coming along very well. One last blocking rehearsal is planned. United Way Update
After a third report meeting Tuesday, the Hopkins County United Way has collected $38,588.92. That’s 24.1% of the goal of $160,000. A total of $13,774.92 came in Tuesday alone. The meeting featured a visit by former United Way Secretary Charlotte Henderson, who Drive Chairman Chris Voorheese called a United Way Legend. Two Injured In Single-Vehicle Wreck
