May 25, 2023 – Memorial Day Homecoming service will be held at Mahoney Cemetery and Old Mahoney Methodist Church on June 11th starting at 10:30am. During this service, reports from the Christmas 2022 “Wreaths Across America” will be discussed for their vets. Sulphur Springs, TX – The Hopkins County Health Care (HCHC) Foundation has scheduled the Designer Handbag Bingo for Thursday, August 3. Sponsorships are available now while reserved tables for 8 will go on sale June 24, and individual tickets will be available on July 1. May 25, 2023 – SSISD will be hosting a Summer Food Service Program for all children under the age of 18 years old and enrolled students with disabilities up to 21 years of age. Free breakfast and lunch will be served for all children eligible for the program. District enrollment is not required and no application is needed. May 23, 2023 – Hopkins County Commissioners has declared the month of June 2023 as elder abuse awareness month. Members of the Adult Protective Services came down to commissioners court to hear the proclamation read by Judge Newsom. The proclamation reads as follows: Adult Protective Services (APS) is working with community partners and professional groups around the state to raise awareness about adult abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation.
