March 10, 2025 – Ladies and gentlemen, individual tickets for the Hopkins County Health Care Foundation’sMingo are officially on sale! The April 10 event is the perfect opportunity to Mix & Mingo. Tickets are $65 each, and every registrant receives a bingo packet, a Slaughter’s BBQ sandwich, and a drink ticket for your choice of an old fashioned, beer, wine, water, or soda. Knights of Columbus Fish Fry Every Friday Through Lent

March 7, 2025 – The first Fish Fry of 2025 is in the books. No one walked away hungry. The next one will be Friday March 14. Service starts at 5PM and goes till 7pm. Right here in Sulphur Springs at St. James Catholic Church. Plenty of USA catfish, hush puppies, fries, coleslaw, okra, desserts, tea and don’t forget about those special beans. The Saltillo Lions Girls Basketball Team Made it to the State 1A, Division 2 Championship

February 28, 2025 – The Saltillo Lions girls basketball team made it to the state 1A, Division 2 championship game in San Antonio Thursday before losing to Nazareth, 53-31. Saltillo had downed Zavala, 42-29 to make it to the championship game. Saltillo completed the season with a 34-7 record.
