June 3, 2025 – The Mahoney Homecoming will be held Sunday, June 8, 2025. Activities begin at 10:30am. not 11:00am. This event will be held at the Mahoney Church and Cemetery. The public is invited. Bring a lunch to share with your family and friends.

Emblem Memorial Day Service to be Held June 8th
June 2, 2025 – Emblem Memorial Day Service and cemetery meeting will be held at 11:00 AM Sunday, June 8th, 2025, at the Emblem Cemetery Chapel on FM highway 71. Following the service, there will be a covered dish lunch.

Calvary Baptist Church, Sulphur Springs, to Hold Vacation Bible School
May 23, 2025 – Calvary Baptist Church would like to announce our Vacation Bible School. The date is June 2nd-6th at 6:00-9:00 p.m.
For ages 4 years-6th grade.
The Vacation Bible School is titled Wonder Junction by Answers in Genesis.
It is a Western Themed Bible School.
We will have Covered Wagon Rides on Tuesday night.
There is no cost and supper will be provided each night with Friday night being a Hamburger and Hot Dog supper for the whole family.

Old Saltillo Methodist Church Plans Special Pre Easter Program
April 1, 2025 – Old Saltillo Methodist Church will hold a special pre Easter program Sunday, April 6th, 2025. The church is located at 664 County Road 3357, Saltillo, Texas, 75478. Such a wonderful season to step back in time with a pre-Easter program at the Old Saltillo Methodist Church, Rev Dan Hoke pastor. Beautiful children will be under the direction of Sue Barker, a Mt. Vernon resident and member of the Sulphur Springs Choral Society for years. The small Choir will take on the angelic roll to depict the memories of the Old Rugged Cross in song and actions while praising the 1850 Church. The church is a perfectly maintained place of worship dating back to the 1800’s.
Please join us while this service takes you back visually and mentally to times long past. Everyone is invited.

New Beginnings Healing and Deliverance Ministries Announces Two Events in April
March 25, 2025 – New Beginnings Healing and Deliverance Ministries is spreading the word on two exciting events coming up in April 2025…
Pastor Deborah Sharper, and New Beginnings Healing and Deliverance Ministries, will host the “Glory Invasion” event April 11, 2025, beginning at 7:00pm, and April 12, 2025, beginning at 6:00pm. Guest speaker will be Apostle Brandon Cornelius, from Glory Revival Center in Madison, MS. This event is free tot he public.

Also taking place in April 2025, the Ancient Rivers In One Accord Ministries will be held at 1200 Houston Street, in Sulphur Springs, Texas. This event will be held April 13, 2025, beginning at 4:00pm. Special presenter will be Apostle Brandon Cornelius Sr.

First UMC of Sulphur Springs Shares Lent & Holy Week Worship Schedule for 2025
March 6, 2025 – Easter is coming! Easter Sunday is April 20, 2025. But, before Easter, First United Methodist Church of Sulphur Springs, Texas, begins with Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the 40 days of LENT: Five Sundays, followed by the exciting Palm/Passion Sunday, the drama of Good Friday, and finally the exuberant excitement of Easter – Resurrection Sunday! First United Methodist Church, 301 Church Street, Sulphur Springs, Texas, 75482, invites the community to join them, especially during this special period, to celebrate the season of LENT, the Resurrection… Easter! The Sundays of LENT began with Services at 9:00am and 11:00am on March 9th, 2025. The message for this Sunday is “God’s Deliverance.’ There will be a special lunch on March 30th, 2025. The theme for that Sunday is “The Gracious Father.” Palm/Passion Sunday is April 13th, 2025. First United Methodist Church will have waving palms, special music, choir hand bells, and an orchestra on this Palm Sunday. There will be a special Good Friday Service April 18th, 2025, at 6:00pm. Then, on Easter Sunday, April 20th, 2025, First UMC will offer three special services, starting with a Sunrise Service at 7:00am. He is risen, indeed!

New Beginnings Healing and Deliverance Ministries to Hold Free Community Wide Meal March 1st
February 28, 2025 – New Beginnings Healing and Deliverance Ministries will host their monthly “The Lord’s Supper” free community wide meal March 1, 2025, from 11am to 2pm. St Philips Episcopal Church Pancake Supper to be Held March 4th, 2025
February 20, 2025 – It’s pancake supper time! St. Philips Episcopal Church will hold their Annual Pancake Supper March 4, 2025. The Church is located at 1206 College Street, Sulphur Springs, Texas. The Pancake Supper will be served from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, Tuesday, March 4th. The public is invited.

First United Methodist Church of Sulphur Springs to Hold Ash Wednesday Service March 5th
February 20, 2025 – The season of Lent will be upon us very soon. Mark your calendars and plan to be a part of First United Methodist Church Ash Wednesday service on March 5th in our Sanctuary, 6:00 p.m.
This moving service will include appropriate music, including our handbell choir, a short sermon by Pastor Peter McNabb and imposition of the ashes. Always a touching and introspective service, you won’t want to miss it.
Following the Ash Wednesday service, the Children’s Department will have a “Wheels & Waffles” event in the Gym. Children should bring their favorite wheeled toy and enjoy some waffles! (ages

The 21st Annual Clara Bridges Banquet is Coming up April 5th
February 6, 2025 – The 21st Annual Sulphur Springs 90 Plus Bridges Banquet will be held Saturday, April 5th, 2025, beginning at 12:00pm. The event will be held at the new Sulphur Springs Senior Citizens Activity Center. If you, or someone you know, is 90 years old, or older, please let the Sulphur Springs Senior Citizens Activity Center know so they may honor them with a special dinner and entertainment by Ms. Vender Wright and Dale Cummings.
