Meeting Monday, the Hopkins County Commissioners Court voted unanimously to adopt the national motto In God We Trust as their own. A plaque in the Commissioners Courtroom now indicates it. At the last meeting of the Sulphur Springs City Council, the council voted to add $66,000 to the proposed budget to address some of consultant Roger Brooks’ branding ideas. City Manager Marc Maxwell says the funds will be used for wayfinding signs to direct people from the Interstate or from hotels to downtown.
