Weather Alert Sirens Accidentally Sounding
For the second time this month, a city of Sulphur Springs weather alert siren accidentally went off. The latest incident occurred at around 4 a.m. Monday. In both cases, Police Chief Jay Sanders says there was a lot of lightning in the area. He believes lightning caused a power surge that triggered the alarms. Sulphur Springs Senior Citizens Center Director Karon Weatherman had good news Friday. Some additional financial gifts put A Walk To Remember over its’ $10,000 goal. Passionately Pink For the Cure – April McGuffey Hopkins County EMS
The third annual Passionately Pink For the Cure 5K Walk/Run takes place Saturday at Buford Park. Registration is at 7 a.m. with the walk/run starting at 8 a.m. Funds raised benefit the Susan Komen Foundation’s fight against breast cancer. Online Solicitation of a Minor Stopped
Hopkins County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 43-year old Cooper man at Kid’s Kingdom in Buford Park in Sulphur Springs for allegedly setting up a sex date with what he thought was a 15-year old girl.
