Four members of the Saltillo Lady Lions’ track team qualified for regional in four events at an area meet recently. Sienna Collins had a terrific meet winning the 3200-meter run, the 1600-meter run and the 800-meter run.
Brenda Castro also qualified for regional with a third place finish in the 3200-meter run, a fourth place finish in the 1600-meter run and a second place finish in the 300-meter hurdles.
Jocelyn Ochoa qualified with a fourth place finish in the 3200-meter run.
Chaeli Spears also qualified by finishing fourth in the 300-meter hurdles.
The regional meet is next Friday and Saturday. Scoring points for the Lady Lions at the area meet were Felicia Valenzuela with a sixth place finish in the 200-meter dash and a fifth place finish in the 100-meter dash. Danielle Ross also got a point by finishing sixth in the 400-meter run. Ross was also seventh in the 200-meter run. Makenna Wiler was eighth in the 3200-meter run for Saltillo.
