Cynthia Elaine Abston was born on August 2, 1949, in Sulphur Springs, Texas, to Paul Glen and Wanda Wynell Fuller Carr. Elaine graduated Mt Vernon High School in 1967, attended business college in Dallas for office management and data entry skills. She held several jobs in this field as a data entry operator, data control supervisor for ClubCorp for 15 years, administrative assistant at Windham School District, and retired from Windham School District under the Department of Criminal Justice System in 2017 with 22 years of service. She was a member of Pine Street Baptist Church, a member of the Winnsboro Order of the Eastern Star, where she served as secretary and Worthy Matron. She was an avid reader, loved good novels to turn her brain off at night, and loved spending time with her family, especially her two great-grandsons. She loved helping people, doing things for others, making others happy, and spending time with people she loved. She loved to hear people laugh and had a good sense of humor. She loved traveling with Deryl, Kevin, and Rita to Virginia to see Aunt Mary and Christi and taking them to see Amy and Joel’s family. Deryl could tell you how many states they touched on that trip. Her favorite thing was the get-togethers on holidays where all the families gathered, the cousins played, the men bragged, and the women caught up on all that was going on. We had such good cooks that all contributed, and no one ever left hungry.

She is survived by son Shane Wade George and wife Brandy, Sulphur Springs, Texas; granddaughter Brittney Leigh George of Sulphur Springs, Texas; grandson Chase Hunter George and wife Haley, of Troup, Texas, and two great-grandsons, Braxton Lee George of Sulphur Springs, Texas, and Cyler Laine Parsons, Pittsburg, Texas. Brothers Paul David Carr and wife Carolyn of Winnsboro, TX, Deryl Wayne Carr, Mt. Vernon, TX, Sister Rita Denise Long and husband Kevin, Mt. Vernon, TX. Numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Wanda Carr, brother Donald Earl Carr, and sister-in-law Barbra Carr.
