Mary Elizabeth Hatley

March 18, 1937 ~ March 29, 2026 (age 89) – Mary Elizabeth Hatley passed away on Sunday March 29, 2026, peacefully in her home surrounded by family. She was born on March 18, 1937, in Wood County. Mary was the daughter of R.C. (Chester) Camper and Ora Kirkland Camper. She married Lloyd Ray Hatley on May 26,1956 in the Union Community of Hopkins County. Graveside Services are at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at West Oaks Funeral Home.

She worked as a home health provider for 28 years in Sulphur Springs, Texas and also at Perry’s for 8 years. She was a woman of God and a member of The First Christian Church in Sulphur Springs Texas. She enjoyed her time serving as an active member of The Eastern Star for over 50 years and she joined D.A.R. (Daughters of the American Revolution) on February 2, 1990. In Her spare time at home, you will remember her love of Pepper gardening and estate sale shopping on the weekends. This is something she found the most joy doing.

Survivors include 3 children son Richard Ray Hatley, son Bobby Joe Hatley (B.J.), Tammy, and daughter Carol Elizabeth Farmer (Daniel), all of Sulphur Springs Texas. She is also survived by one brother Donald Camper of Sulphur Springs Texas. She was the proud grandmother of nine grandchildren Candice Bell, Nichole Ross, Justine Diaz, Patricia Watkins, Johnny Harrington, Cassidy Cunningham, Hailey Arrington, Kylie Banks, and David Farmer. She also has 14 great grandchildren she took much pride in. Hope Beck, Braydon Beck, Deidre Bell, Dexter Cunningham, Draven Cunningham, Kisler Arrington, Willow Arrington, Taelyn Arrington, Alex Banks, Cydnee Albert, Asher Albert, Kaydence Ross, Jasper Diaz, and Allison Diaz. She also has numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her mother Ora Camper and her father R.C. Camper, sister Jo Scott, brothers, Gerald Camper, Arvel Camper, and Wayne Camper and sister Christine Crok. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband Lloyd Ray Hatley on September 16, 2003.

Mrs. Mary was a strong-willed woman and will greatly be missed by us all.
