A Message of Inspiration From the Author of Living Loved, December 21, 2025

Hey friends.  The other day my brain was going wonky. I was over thinking a million scenarios in my mind about how things could go, would go, and how this would be and that would be, and what if and what then and why and why not. You know all the noises of doubt and fear.  They were echoing in my mind. And in the background of all that the song “I want a hippopotamus for Christmas,” was also on repeat.  Now it’s ok to laugh because I did. I was thinking to myself, “what on earth?  Why is that song playing as the background noise to my mind.”  About that time, the Holy Spirit prompted me to sing the hymn “I love you Lord” in my mind. Not out loud. In my mind. And as I did that, the overthinking stopped.  The hippo song stopped. And I began to worship instead. And friends, He showed me that what we think on is so important. And we can change the very direction of our thoughts by purposefully thinking on the things of heaven. On worship. On praise. On HIM!

And friends, In this season, let us gently lift our eyes from the noise of the world and fix them on the things of heaven.

Let’s be reminded that our hearts were never meant to be anchored to what is temporary, they were made to be anchored to what is eternal.

Friends, the word calls us to set our minds on things above, to dwell on what is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and of good report. When our thoughts are shaped by heaven, our lives begin to reflect heaven’s peace.  Amen!

Friends, let this be a season where worship fills our hearts—where hymns are sung, songs of thanksgiving rise, and praise becomes our posture and our minds focus. Even in quiet moments, let gratitude be our language and worship our response.

Friends, Slow down. Open God’s Word. Meditate on His promises. Let His truth renew your mind and steady your heart. When the world feels loud, His Word remains faithful and sure and a quiet refuge and sanctuary for our souls.

As we focus on Him, we are reminded of who we are, whose we are, and where our true hope lies.

Heaven’s perspective changes everything.  You are so loved. Live loved friends.
