Hopkins County Health Care Foundation Buys Two Misting Tents for Public Safety

November 14, 2025 – Sulphur Springs, Texas – The Hopkins County Health Care Foundation has purchased two custom misting tents for CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital – Sulphur Springs to
benefit the public using proceeds of the 2024 Snowflake Campaign.

The 10’ by 10’ inflatable tents emit a cooling mist that can quickly lower body temperature, preventing heat exhaustion and heat strokes. Expect to see the tents in use at many of Hopkins County’s beloved outdoor events, such as the Symphony League Independence Concert, and at local cross-country meets, helping keep students safe.

“We’re excited to have this resource from the Foundation. Giving people almost immediate relief from the Texas heat can help us prevent medical emergencies fast and on-site,” says Tracy Lott, sports medicine coordinator for CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital – Sulphur Springs. The tents will travel with Tracy in the Mobile Athletic Training Room that the Foundation facilitated a donation for from Alliance Bank.

With the community’s support, this year’s Snowflake Campaign will purchase a new blanket warmer for the surgical services wing expansion of the local nonprofit hospital, CHRISTUS Mother Frances – Sulphur Springs.

Gifts to the campaign come with the opportunity to dedicate a snowflake in honor or memory of a friend or loved one. Honoree snowflakes will adorn the hospital lobby for the holiday season. Visit Snowflake2025.GiveSmart.com to recognize someone while supporting local healthcare.

Since 1997, the Foundation has proudly advanced local healthcare opportunities with free clinics, programs, and educational resources while also funding equipment, construction, and programs for the state special district Hopkins County Hospital District/EMS and local nonprofit hospital CHRISTUS Mother Frances – Sulphur Springs.
