A Message of Inspiration From the Author of Living Loved, October 19, 2025
Hey there friends. I am wondering how many, if any, of you have been in the midst of a storm in life and the waves were crashing all around you; the rain seemed to be coming from every angle; everything in your life seemed to be rocked and ravaged by the storm? Some storms seem to be just so much worse than others. And in the midst of the storms sometimes we find that our faith is just wavering. We feel like maybe we have been abandoned and that the Lord is completely blind to our situation. We sit and we cry and cry and nothing changes. Maybe we feel much like the disciples did the day on the lake when the storm was ravaging them and Jesus was asleep in the back of the boat. The storm was raging and the disciples became fearful and cried out, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?””
(Mark 4:38)
Have you been there? Questioning where God was in your situation? I have! No lie, I have screamed out in shear frustration, fear, and desperation, “where are you Lord? Do you not see what is happening in my life? Do you not care that I am drowning here?” It’s okay friends, it’s okay if your faith wavers sometimes. I have been taught in my life in church that “mature Christians” have the faith that moves mountains. That it was a weakness if my faith wavered. And I am here to tell you that the Father KNOWS exactly what we are feeling.
It says in Hebrews 4:14 that Jesus faced the same temptations as we do, that he understands our weaknesses. Friend, he UNDERSTANDS when we struggle. He is not sitting in heaven angry at you. He loves you. He wants to see your faith grow and he knows when you are tired. But the same Jesus that rode in the boat with the disciples is sitting at the right hand of the father and he is interceding on your behalf. He is making a way.
So let me speak the words of Jesus in this time. Read with me Mark 4:39. “When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!” Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm.” Jesus spoke the word and the wind STOPPED! The SAME JESUS with the SAME AUTHORITY enters into our storms and he calms them! Even the waves and winds obey Him. But DO NOT grow weary because He is the same Jesus that didn’t immediately stop the storm when he called Peter out onto the water to walk. Read with me in Matthew 14:27. “But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “Take courage. I am here!”
FRIENDS! AS SOON AS they got back on the boat THE STORM CALMED. Friends, please tell me you are following me. Sometimes Jesus immediately calms the storms in our lives. Sometimes he calls us out In faith to step out and walk it out. But EITHER WAY, when JESUS entered the scene, the storms calmed. He is saying to you today, “Don’t be afraid, take courage, I am here!! I am with you! I am the same Jesus who calmed the sea. The same Jesus who walked on water. I see you in the midst of it. I haven’t fallen asleep. I care about you. I am here to help you walk it out. You CAN have peace in the midst of this storm.”
Friends, it’s not the lack of storms that produce peace, it’s the presence of the Lord that produces peace in the midst of storms. Be encouraged friend, we have a high priest who can 100% sympathize with us and our weaknesses. When your faith is wavering, when the storms are raging and you just need some help, cry out to the God who sees you, loves you, and will absolutely see you through anything you are facing right now. You ARE so loved by a God who died to know you!! Close your eyes friends, get some rest. The Lord is on duty. Rest. Breath. Believe again. You are so loved. You are seen. You can get through this. You are loved by a Mighty God! Live loved!
