A Message of Inspiration From the Author of Living Loved, June 8, 2025

Hey friends!!  Just reading the Gospel of Luke in chapter 17, verses 11-17 about the 10 lepers.  Read with me here:

“As Jesus continued on toward Jerusalem, he reached the border between Galilee and Samaria. As he entered a village there, ten men with leprosy stood at a distance, crying out, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” He looked at them and said, “Go show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed of their leprosy. One of them, when he saw that he was healed, came back to Jesus, shouting, “Praise God!” He fell to the ground at Jesus’ feet, thanking him for what he had done. This man was a Samaritan. Jesus asked, “Didn’t I heal ten men? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” And Jesus said to the man, “Stand up and go. Your faith has healed you.””

‭‭Couple things I notice here:

1.  These 10 men with leprosy recognized Jesus and cried out to Him for mercy.

2.  He told them to go show themselves to the priest, (which was a typical thing that leper’s did if their leprosy went into remission. The priest could deem them clean so they could return into the public).

3.  They WENT without question!

4.  AS they WENT they were HEALED. You catch that?  As they went. Not when they got there and priest deemed them clean. As they went still in their leprosy.

5.  Only one returned and fell at the feet of Jesus and praised God, thanking Him for all He had done.

6.  The man that returned was a Samaritan.

7.  Jesus told Him that his faith had healed him.

So friends, let’s cut to the chase and summarize this up and get to the meat of my post!

In our “Leprosy” are we crying out to God for mercy?  See this “leprosy” is much like sin in our lives, sin or maybe something that deeply plagues us but we cannot rid ourselves of.  So are we crying out to God for His mercies in our lives?

Jesus told them to go. And they WENT without question. They had faith that if they went to the priest he would deem them “clean!”   When God gives us direction on our situation are we going?  Are we going in faith even before we see the manifestation of our answer?  Do we trust the mercy of Christ in our “leprosy?”  Because see AS THEY WENT and as WE go, our faith is walking out our answer!

And now, are we returning to the feet of the mercy giving, life changing, sin forgiving, strength giving, miracle working GOD and thanking Him for all He has done for us?  Are we!  Or are we being like the other 9 and walking away with our answer and never proclaiming the goodness and mercies of God?  The one that returned was not only a Leper but was also a Samaritan and Jesus crossed the societal, cultural, and religious lines and healed a man; and he will do the same for us!  It doesn’t matter what society or culture or religion says, Jesus bridged the gap so ALL could come to him!

So friends, where do you fall in the story of the 10 lepers?  You see, Jesus was showing us that his salvation came for all, for the lepers, the Jews, the samaritans, the religious and the lost. And you and I !  You and I!  His mercies never end and His love never fails!!  Friends, Go, your faith has healed you!

You are so loved!!
