Jackie Williams

September 25, 1950 – April 28, 2025

Jackie Don Williams, 74, of Yantis, Texas, passed peacefully at home on April 28, 2025 surrounded by his beloved family. It was a day of mourning for his loved ones-and a day of great relief for his beloved Baylor Bears, who can now rest easy knowing their most passionate (and loudest) fan is yelling from Heaven with Jesus (also a Baylor fan in case you didn’t know). Born on September 25, 1950, Jackie lived a life fueled by faith, family, rock and roll, and just enough stubbornness to keep things interesting. He never met a long walk he didn’t like, a Rolling Stones song he wouldn’t dance (poorly) to, or a Baylor game he wouldn’t critique as if he were on the coaching staff. He was a man of faith and family, who was secure in the eternal promise of Jesus Christ. Jackie leaves behind a legacy of eye rolls, laughter, and love in the form of his wife of 51 years, Ellen Dossey Williams, his sister, Latrese Williams Lytle, and three children: Jay Williams, Ashley Williams Timotic, and Abby Williams Morris. He is also survived by his beloved in-laws: Suzy Williams, Miroslav Timotic, and Jake Morris-each of whom endured Jackie’s commentary at family gatherings and lived to tell the tales. Jackie’s biggest bragging rights were his grandsons: Judd Williams, Grant Williams, Caleb Jack Morris, Jonathan Morris, Adam Williams Timotic, and Andrew Timotic – young men he raised with the love of the Bears, fishing, and lake life. And of course, his granddaughter Rose Elizabeth Morris, who had him wrapped around her finger. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Donley Williams and Jayne Rose Williams. Though he’s no longer here to offer unsolicited advice or explain-again-why the Grant Teaff era was the greatest of all time, Jackie’s legacy of love, loyalty, and laughter lives on in the people who were lucky enough to know him. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Lake Fork Baptist Church building fund (link below). We also suggest tuning into a Baylor game, playing a Stones song at full volume, or going on a long walk while remembering Baylor’s best days. He’d appreciate it.
