Memorial Service for Carol Denise Brooks, age 59, of Sulphur Springs, TX will be conducted at 3:00 p.m.,
Saturday, March 16, 2024 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Cordel Jackson officiating. Carol
was born on June 15, 1964 in Hopkins County, TX to Georgia Mae Brooks. Carol passed away on March
10, 2024
Carol attended Sulphur Springs High School and worked for many years in home health care. She
enjoyed fishing, working in her yard, taking long walks and adored spending time with her family
especially those grandkids of hers. Carol loved playing bingo and talking some smack.
She is survived by her mother, Georgia Mae Brooks; daughter, Carla Denise Brooks (John); sisters:
Sandra Jo Cork (Kenneth), Linda Faye, Angelia Brooks, Melinda Gail, Nona Turner, Sonja Nelson (Byron),
Lottie Moore and Letitia Conliff; brother, Larry Porter; grandchildren, Sharday Godbolt (Roderick),
Sharon Brooks (Darius) and Tahja Gilbert; great-grandchildren, Traneya Harrison, Kaiya Godbolt,
Kamreigh Brooks, Camden Godbolt, Jamila Gilbert; special friend Don Turner as well as nieces, nephews
and great nieces and nephews.
Carol was preceded in death by her father, Willie B. Edwards; brother, Willie James and Mary Cunningham.
