NETLA Hopkins County Junior Market Livestock Show 2022 Heifer Contest Results

The NETLA Hopkins County Junior Market Livestock Show 2022 Heifer Contest Friday evening featured 19 cows in five different heifer classes, with showmanship awards presented in three categories based on age of exhibitors, and two championship awards bestowed for the two heifers rated best overall.

Youth exhibitors whose heifers competed for class recognition received ribbons based on ranking. Top class winners then advanced to the championship round, where the two heifers determined by the judge to be the best overall were named Grand and Reserve Champions.

Kaitlyn Myers Friday night received the Senior Showmanship Award for her skills showing her heifer. Myers. The North Hopkins FFA member was one of six Hopkins County students ages 14 and up who exhibited during the showmanship portion of the heifer contest with her Class1 black baldie heifer.
